Bachmann: Obama is first "post-American" president
It's been -- what? -- and hour or so since Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) challenged someone's patriotism for disagreeing with her, so she rectified it by comparing President Obama to Hugo Chavez at a rally in St. Paul on Saturday.
"Some have called President Obama the first post American president," she said. "Certainly this health care bill would be our first post Modern legislation where words mean absolutely nothing."
She might have been referring to Fareed Zakaria's book, "The Post American World," which references ti rise of China and India. But more likely she's referring to former Bush UN Ambassador John Bolton, who appears to have coined the phrase in a Sept. 2009 NRO article, referring to the president's General Assembly speech.
"Passing the health care bill and moving it to the president's desk in the same manner used by the last administration to pass tax breaks "sounds more like a Chavez tactic in Venezuela," Michele Bachmann told her follower's at a "Kill the bill" rally in St. Paul on Saturday." <video at link>
