Police aren't soldiers and our streets aren't war zones. If an Ar-15 is a weapon of war and has no place on our streets, surely the police don't need weapons of war...

The AR15 rifle is FAR more accurate than a pistol or shotgun. That's why. If a lunatic Muslim is running in a crowd with a gun or knife and a cop must take a shot from 50 yards away....which would you rather they use? A pistol or shotgun will miss at 50. A rifle wont. The pistol and shotgun fire FAR larger bullets with MUCH more stopping power. But....they're far less accurate.

Now....if your daughter is in that crowd....you want the cops using a weapon they're more or less Iikely to miss with?

They are cowards, for sure, but I don't know about any "wars" and killing people. I don't really think it would come down to that. I think our school system needs to start getting into our rights and why they are important more though. People seem to be SO uneducated about why ALL of our rights are precious. I invite you to point out my lies. I want reasonable restrictions on gun purchases. I want people on terror watch lists to be prevented from buying guns and I want background checks on all gun sales, not just the ones from licensed dealers. Anything else you care to ask?

So, why would you prefer those measures and not a complete ban if you feel guns are so bad? If you feel they are "murderous weapons" that serve no purpose other than to kill people, then shouldn't you be demanding a ban?
