I believe in God. I believe that Jesus Christ was the living Son of God and that He was crucified and in three days, rose from the dead to sit at the right hand of God, where He is to this day. Because of this, I believe in helping my fellow man in every way possible, of leading a moral life and of giving more than I take.

I like Ben Carson. He is a man of science and a man of deep spirituality. To equate Ben Carson with the radical nut cases that are churning the middle east into crap, is to misunderstand what is occurring there. That's not what he said in the article that was linked in the OP, what he was "You could guess that we are getting closer to that" and then when on to talk about what other people might think about. He never said or even implied that HE thought America is 'closer' to biblical end of days.

He then went on to say this (if you look at the entire article instead of the cherry picked excerpt that was linked).

“Is there a chance to change the course if it is something that’s prophesied?” the host inquired.

“I think we have a chance to do everything we can to ameliorate the situation. I would always be shooting for peace. I wouldn’t just take a fatalistic view of things,” Mr. Carson replied

Obviously he disagrees with those that see a biblical end times on the horizon, since he says he wouldn't "just take a fatalistic view of things". (I.e. if it were God's doing nobody would have a choice about whether to be fatalistic or not).

The OP is just completely disingenuous on this one IMHO.
