Bernie Sanders does not understand economics

If you suck at what you do, the employer should continue to let you suck more? You want to claim when people are fired, it's the employer being unfair. Based on your work history, sounds to me as if they made a mistake hiring you and were only correcting it later.

Yeah, so about that. So I sucked so much at the job I was let go from they had me in charge of doing ALL THE PURCHASING for their key account in Illinois, about 12 million dollars a year in six locations. No one had any issue with anything I did until I had medical issues in 2007, which didn't effect my work performance one Iota.

I've seen people fired because they got pregnant, were gay, to make a position for a manager's drinking buddy.

SO, yeah, most people who get fired are usually because management crashed the whole company into a ditch or they were just being douchebags to one individual. I never give the employer the benefit of the doubt.

That is Left Wing bullshit. The fact that the welfare rolls in this country is astronomical and none of the welfare queens pays a damn cent of the trillion a year in income taxes is all the proof anyone needs.

However, if you really believed that commie crap then you would join me in advocating that the business of government should be nothing more than providing the bare necessary government functions. That way your "rich people" don't get any money from the government. Of course that would also include your filthy ass welfare queens, illegal aliens and Muslim refugees. that you dumbass Moon Bats love so much

Actually, the lowest of the low are confederate flag-waiving rednecks who are dumber than dirt and keep voting Republican because they are scared of the gays or the coloreds.

But as long as you want to talk about illegal aliens, who do you think is hiring them? It ain't the government. It's the rich people you love so much.

Bend Over, you teabagger.

I'll take you seriously when you actually propose things to cut that are practical.

When $20T DEBT you would think Cut/Eliminate/Consolidate would be automatic?

I found a sample of DEPTs' do we need ALL?

Damn...I thought FDR initiated a lot of programs:

  • Federal Emergency Relief Administration (FERA) a Hoover program to create unskilled jobs for relief; expanded by FDR and Harry Hopkins; replaced by WPA in 1935.
  • United States bank holiday, 1933: closed all banks until they became certified by federal reviewers
  • Abandonment of gold standard, 1933: gold reserves no longer backed currency; still exists
  • Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC), 1933–1942: employed young men to perform unskilled work in rural areas; under United States Army supervision; separate program for Native Americans
  • Homeowners Loan Corporation (HOLC) helped people keep their homes, the government bought properties from the bank allowing people to pay the government instead of the banks in installments they could afford, keeping people in their homes and banks afloat.
  • Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), 1933: effort to modernize very poor region (most of Tennessee), centered on dams that generated electricity on the Tennessee River; still exists
  • Agricultural Adjustment Act (AAA), 1933: raised farm prices by cutting total farm output of major crops and livestock; replaced by a new AAA because the Supreme Court ruled it unconstitutional.
  • National Industrial Recovery Act (NIRA), 1933: industries set up codes to reduce unfair competition, raise wages and prices; ended 1935. The US Supreme Court ruled the NIRA unconstitutional
  • Public Works Administration (PWA), 1933: built large public works projects; used private contractors (did not directly hire unemployed). Ended 1938.
  • Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) insures bank deposits and supervises state banks; still exists
  • Glass–Steagall Act regulates investment banking; repealed 1999
  • Securities Act of 1933, created the SEC, 1933: codified standards for sale and purchase of stock, required awareness of investments to be accurately disclosed; still exists
  • Civil Works Administration (CWA), 1933–34: provided temporary jobs to millions of unemployed
  • Indian Reorganization Act, 1934: moved away from assimilation; policy dropped
  • Social Security Act (SSA), 1935: provided financial assistance to: elderly, handicapped, paid for by employee and employer payroll contributions; required 7 years contributions, so first payouts were in 1942; still exists
  • Works Progress Administration (WPA), 1935: a national labor program for more than 2 million unemployed; created useful construction work for unskilled men; also sewing projects for women and arts projects for unemployed artists, musicians and writers; ended 1943.
  • National Labor Relations Act (NLRA) / Wagner Act, 1935: set up National Labor Relations Board to supervise labor-management relations; In the 1930s, it strongly favored labor unions. Modified by the Taft-Hartley Act (1947); still exists
  • Judicial Reorganization Bill, 1937: gave the President power to appoint a new Supreme Court judge for every judge 70 years or older; failed to pass Congress
  • Federal Crop Insurance Corporation (FCIC), 1938: Insures crops and livestock against loss of production or revenue. Was restructured during the creation of the Risk Management Agency in 1996 but continues to exist.
  • Surplus Commodities Program (1936); gives away food to poor; still exists as Food Stamp Program
  • Fair Labor Standards Act 1938: established a maximum normal work week of 44 hours and a minimum wage of 40 cents/hour and outlawed most forms of child labor; still exists, hours have been lowered to 40 hours over the years
  • Rural Electrification Administration (REA), one of the federal executive departments of the United States government charged with providing public utilities (electricity, telephone, water, sewer) to rural areas in the U.S. via public-private partnerships. still exists.
  • Resettlement Administration (RA), Resettled poor tenant farmers; replaced by Farm Security Administration in 1935.
  • Farm Security Administration (FSA), Helped poor farmers by a variety of economic and educational programs; some programs still exists as part of the Farmers Home Administration

Evidently he has no clue how collateral works, the man is obviously a few cards shy on the ole economic deck. A home has actual value...a women's study degree? Not so much. The man is running on an economics platform? Scary shit

Bernie Sanders

✔@SenSanders

You have families out there paying 6, 8, 10 percent on student debt but you can refinance your homes at 3 percent. What sense is that?
10:39 AM - 26 Dec 2015

It's a legitimate question.

You've answered it, in part.

I think Bernie carries a desire to see people succeed and feels the need to correct some "inequalities" in the system.

While I don't agree with him, I appreciated that he is the only candidate that talks in terms of the human condition.

Unlike Hillary the liar, Bernie appears to play it up straight. He says what he thinks.

Bernie-Sanders-Is-The-Most-Dangerous-Man-In-America.jpg

I don't believe this is fair.

That isn't his platform.

Hillary is all about HIllary. I think Bernie cares.

Irrelevant post of the day

It's completely relevant. Conservatives always whine and cry about how (conveniently) we don't have money for the stuff they don't like. But, when it comes to the things they do like, suddenly the national debt and the deficit fade into the background as if they were never really problems to begin with. It's called selective fiscal concern.

So your solution to corporate welfare--a Democrat program btw--is to expand it to everyone?

No, get rid of it entirely. Then provide welfare for people who actually need it.

GET RID OF IT ENTIRELY IS CORRECT.

FEDGOV NOR THE STATES SHOULD PROVIDE WELFARE.

IF YOU KNOW SOMEONE WHO ACTUALLY NEEDS HELP GO AHEAD AND WRITE THEM A CHECK.

.

It's simple: Houses will stand empty if there are no generations of people coming into the job market who have the ways and means to buy them. If they are saddled with debt that eats up 30% of their income, they will be renters and never buyers. Got it, now?

The housing market is what drives the economy or makes it dive. Google "crash of 2008" and get back to us.

But running out of other peoples money is not a problem anymore.

Have you ever heard of the Fed?
Have you heard of the National Debt?
Have you heard of the National Debt?

Hell yea.

3.2 trillion from non revenue and none job creating Tax Cuts passed by reconciliation.

At least 3 trillion from two wars that went on over a decade.

Who knows how much rebuilding Iraq after we flattened it.

The cost of taking care of more than 30,000 Iraq maimed Americans costing trillions into the future.

The taxes lost from millions of jobs moving to China from 2001 to 2008.

The revenue lost from the more than 40,000 factories closed from 2001 to 2008.

Medicare party D passed though reconciliation costing more than a trillion.

The damage to our gulf coast decades into the future while some protect the perpetrators.

The cost of rebuilding our infrastructure since it was neglected while our money was being spent in the ME.

The damage into the future because we have been defunding our schools.

See, we know the debt. No doubt about it. We even know where it came from and what caused it. It's public record. Only tards don't know how we got it.

Great post rdean!! Yet, all they can whine about is how evil paving a road is or educating a child. That is what they bitch about even through it never has caused it debt problems.

Do I want to balance the budget? YES I DO. I'd cut the millitary 50 billion, repeal the tax cuts, close the loop holes and demand a invisgation into government waste. I'd then work to cut 200 billion dollars of bs.
I think I might take a different approach. I would lower the cost of education for everyone owning less than 5 million (five million is a lot of money, but these days, it's not astronomical. You could use a lot of that up paying for college if you have a large family). I would offer low cost loans and even grants to people who start a business. But I would make PASSING a class on how to start and run a business mandatory for every one who qualifies for those loans. I would make presenting a brief on the business you want to start a requirement as the final exam. And I would pay for that by closing subsidies and getting rid of loop holes for large businesses.
I would focus our military to be effective in today's modern world. What good is an enormous navy if our enemies live in the desert? I would support and invest in research for every thing from fighting rebels in the desert to winning the propaganda war against groups like Isis to consumer goods, food production and space exploration. I would invest in education and part of that would be to overcome the ignorant statements from moronic right wingers like education is a waste of money. The rest of the world thinks our schools are the best in the world and those ignorant fucks think our schools are falling apart. So they are defunding the schools to make sure that happens.

Too often, we get caught in the trap that it's all about taxes. Because that's all the GOP has and their policies all fail. They were so sure it's about taxes, that's why the passed the trillions in lost revenue from the Bush tax cuts. And look at what we got. Debt, debt and more debt. For nothing. They were so sure it would work, they passed a spectacular tax cut and what we got was a spectacular failure. That's what happens without an education. Your policies are based on "wish".

A lot of people in the mid-to-late 50s lost their jobs to younger, cheaper employees in the 2008-09 crash. I know quite a few. Companies started adopting the Walmart business model: high volume, low prices, cheap labor, no more 40-hour work weeks, dump benefits.

This is in no small measure why the revolt in the fast food industry occurred: better educated, older adults taking a job at McDonald's and rebelling against shitty pay and even shittier working conditions.

Reagan's tax cuts stimulated the economy and got it going on a pretty good run.

There were other factors.

But education is not a cure-all. Not all jobs require a college education.

Many of these have 100K employee buried inside. nothing to cut? We don't pay enough tax dollars?

Irrelevant post of the day

It's completely relevant. Conservatives always whine and cry about how (conveniently) we don't have money for the stuff they don't like. But, when it comes to the things they do like, suddenly the national debt and the deficit fade into the background as if they were never really problems to begin with. It's called selective fiscal concern.

So your solution to corporate welfare--a Democrat program btw--is to expand it to everyone?

No, get rid of it entirely. Then provide welfare for people who actually need it.
And liberals dont cry about the deficit at all. They just spend more money.
Yeah, your post was irrelevant.

I'll take you seriously when you actually propose things to cut that are practical.

When $20T DEBT you would think Cut/Eliminate/Consolidate would be automatic?

I found a sample of DEPTs' do we need ALL?

oh yeah? what do contribute? you post to ask for more tax dollars to fund this garbage?

The point is the list is overwhelming. Many of those DEPT has 100K+ employees. hired/medical/retired/replaced etc. Some of them have a few employee, but contribute ZIPPO necc. function. yet cost the same.? when is it too much? Now? Cut Cut Cut, then get back to me.

Very costly. Start picking some of your favorites to Cut or keep? You do some work, not all me.
