Some bands can never put it together on stage the way they do in the studio. Other bands thrive on live performances. Some are equally good live or in studio. These are my top 5 favorite live albums. Any other favorites?

1. Remember That Night - David Gilmour
2. Live at the Fillmore East - The Allman Brothers
3. Live at Leeds - The Who
4. One More For/From the Road - Lynyrd Skynyrd
5. The Song Remains the Same - Led Zeppelin

When I saw this thread, "Live Dates" first came to mind.

A very biased opinion, but Yessongs (1973) is my fave.

Many fine albums mentioned already, a couple more:

Little Feat - Waiting for Columbus
U2 - Under a Blood Red Sky

Ah, Yessongs. Theat was right after Rick Wakeman put out his solo album The Six Wives of Henry VIII. IIRC, he played some excerpts. Very good album.

Liked Foghat too. Slow Ride got a lot of airplay that summer.

on that Album i always though "Honey Hush" kicked ass....

Live at the Fillmore East - The Allman Brothers

:clap2:

Duane's guitar work on 'Whipping Post' is otherworldly. The tone he gets from that old 50 watt Marshall head is one that NO modern amp and/or distortion foot pedal can match...not even close.
