If democrats would only be straight (pardon the expression) with us. Does the political strategy revolve around punishing Americans for their (unfair?) energy consumption? Do democrats want to turn the U.S. into a 3rd world country where gas is so expensive that people ride around on scooters and bicycles? Say it isn't so, Joe (if you can remember what I asked).

Would ye just stop... No matter how many times it has been explained, the markets control the price of Oil, oil companies & OPEC control the supply...
Biden's restrictions had hell all to do with the present supply.. I know ye want to give every inch of land to oil companies for peanuts but some people want a small bit of restraint... The Oil Companies and OPEC are the ones screwing people now... They will spend fortunes pretending that any restriction on them should be blamed, they want total control and drill where they want for again peanuts...
Oil production is now less than 10% off the levels they were prepandemic. They will surpass that next year... Again this was encouraged by Biden but he can't order them to do it...
Oil Companies are private companies, Do ye want Biden to nationalise the US Oil companies and get them to produce more?
