Wrong the EO does not automatically declassify documents when POTUS takes them out of the White House. That makes no sense whatsoever. The president has to send a memo to the originating entity that initiated the classification as stated in the EO. If the white house did the classification in the first place then yes they can declassify on their own initiative. Otherwise the initiating entity must be notified. They can agree or disagree. The white house can declassify there own documents if they are the ones who placed the original classification. This is not the case as the classified documents are originated by another entity and not the president. The EO clearly states that the president must sent a memorandum to the originating agency that he wants to declassify. They have an opportunity to disagree and present there reasons.
If Trump did this then where are the notifications. There are none. He is just lying to save his butt. The EO was to have a plan concerning this issue of classification and declassification of government secrets. Maybe there was issues with people in the past because there was no plan.

It’s Hurr time!It doesn't matter if they turn over the documents to the archives now.......each document in his possession as a civillian is a felony.....he had above Top Secret documents in his possession.....that is against the law, those are felonies.........a bank robber can't just give the money back after he steals it and think that is going to make things alright...........
This is so stupidly simplistic. It is a process. If the POTUS declares a document unclassified or proclaims it or whatever you are saying he can do, maybe wave his hand, that does not only effect that Subj: but also anything else on that document referenced on that document. That is why when you see an unclassified document (done appropriately. not by declaration of a cult leader) you still see redactions. It has to go through channels to protect other classified information. So even if Trump did declare something not classified, there is still a process.Wrong……..the President doesnt have to notify anyone and can simply state they are declassified and he can even hand them to someone and that act makes them declassified…..the President is not bound by any other authority when it comes to declassifying anything…he has the total and sole power to do it on his own….
