NPR was reporting they were. Residents are getting $700 emergency funding. <sarcasm> Conservatives oppose this of course; "they should have planned for a massive wildfire and not had any vegetation near their house. It's all their fault." <sarcasm>Is FEMA in Maui yet?
As of Aug. 12, 2023: FEMA has deployed more than 150 FEMA personnel, including search and rescue teams, with more on the way. Today, Disaster Survivor Assistance teams are in Maui to help residents register for assistance and address any critical needs in the affected neighborhoods.1 day ago
