Biden's 8.1 Million Vote Landslide Win

As a twice Trump voter, I agree that probably the election was (by American standards) reasonably honest.

So hearty congratulations to all those people who voted for the Honorable Joseph R. Biden, Jr., to (nominally) lead this nation, come that glorious day of January 20.

And my deepest sympathies when some of his administration policies come to bite some of those people (and especially their grandchildren) in the posterior. No crying, please!
Will you be supporting Don the Con, Inc in 2024?

Tired of winning?

I'm against this. I like the electoral vote system we have today just fine.
Can you explain why voters in five states should decide which candidate becomes POTUS?

I blame a winner-take-all method of selecting electors.

Agreement Among the States to Elect the President by National Popular Vote

"The U.S. Constitution (Article II, Section 1) gives the states exclusive control over awarding their electoral votes: 'Each State shall appoint, in such Manner as the Legislature thereof may direct, a Number of Electors....' The winner-take-all method of awarding electoral votes is state law.

"It is not in the U.S. Constitution.

"The winner-take-all rule was used by only three states in 1789, and all three repealed it by 1800.

"It was not until the 11th presidential election (1828) that even half the states used winner-take-all laws."

If there were a national popular vote, we wouldn't be doubting the outcome of the election for months on end.

Biden won in a landslide. There'd be no denying it.
If we define landslide as a double-digit win, Biden will probably come up a little short, but there's no doubt the popular vote settled this election days ago.
650px-1964_Electoral_Map.png

"Johnson carried 44 states and the District of Columbia, which voted for the first time in this election.

"Goldwater won his home state and swept the states of the Deep South, most of which had not voted for a Republican presidential candidate since the end of Reconstruction in 1877.

"This was the last time that the Democratic Party won the white vote, although they came close in 1992."

Are you ready to give up democracy for Donald Trump?
^^^ Naked fear drives people to spew this BS.

Idiots posting stupidity like your Amy Barrett poster promote it. No matter - you'll turn against democracy if Trump tells you to.
Idiot or liar? which are you?

Trump lost, by a lot. Are you ready to give up democracy to keep Trump in the White House? Don't be timid, dummy.
Yes, they are. They'd be overwhelming eager to sacrifice democracy to keep Impeached Trump in office 4 more years.
Too bad we don't live in a democracy, liar.

5 states did not decide the winner. 24 states (25 if Georgia holds up) that went to Biden won the election. It only feels like 5 states because they're swing states that break the tie. It's kind of like a football game where the kicker comes in and kicks the game winner, 24-21, as time runs out. While it feels like the kicker won the game, he only scored 3 of the other 21 points. It was a team effort.

How and why does anyone here take you seriously?

It is a good victory in new elect Biden and Harris infact this are what Obama wanted in break of menial 2017 of white house grasp ...
I'm not sure we can believe much of what Joe Biden tells us at this time:

"NOVEMBER 12, 2020
Biden’s Victory: Is the Worst Yet to Come?
BY DAVID ROSEN
https://www.counterpunch.org/#facebook
"In his acceptance speech, Biden outlined five key issues that he would address as president:

"The battle to control the virus. The battle to build prosperity. The battle to secure your family’s health care. The battle to achieve racial justice and root out systemic racism in this country. The battle to save the climate. The battle to restore decency, defend democracy and give everybody in this country a fair shot."
Biden has been a corporate servant for his entire career.
If he has any intention of building prosperity, he would outlaw Payday Loans and replace the Wall Street villains with USPS banking option.

One, that I'm aware of. A Republican who requested a mail-in ballot for his dead mother.
In my 73 years I've met one Democrat who voted twice for Al Gore in 2000. I suspect both major parties engage in voter fraud whenever it's to their advantage; although, Republicans are the party that operated under a federal consent decree for decades due to their activities at suppressing the vote. Democrats (I suspect) would be more inclined to pad the voting rolls with non-citizens.

That makes sense, yet I can't help wondering at what point over the past nine days this election would have been irrevocably decided based solely on the popular vote?

I think the only way that would have happened is had Trump gotten a majority of the electoral votes. Biden would have graciously conceded and it would have been over. I think Trump was planning to sow discord and distrust in the election from months ago in case he was losing; just to do what he's doing now. And if all else fails, try to get electors to cast deviant votes on December 14th to make him the president.
