First, I already caught the GOP lying about what they got in this deal. The GOP is claiming they "slashed" the $80 billion for 87,000 new IRS agents. "Slashed"? They cut a whopping $1.5 billion I wouldn't even call that trimming it let alone slashing it. That's not even a 2% reduction.

Second, do not underestimate the slime Democrats. Dems are masters at writing this legislation in such a way that it lets them weasel out of their end of the so called compromise. They have been caught bragging about how they will weasel out of these deals. winking to their base. That Biden is bragging about he didn't compromise on anything suggests they plan to weasel out of the deal.

I'm not saying this wasn't a step in the right direction. Gingrich details this is how it began when he became speaker, baby steps. But I am underwhelmed.

That's a common misconception out there right now.

While technically true, it's proponents are also exempting the fact that McCarthy's plan also reallocates billions more from the IRS to other agencies.

When all is said and done, the real cuts in 2024 and 2025 are north of 21 billion.
