However, this quote is specifically promoting non-violent protests as a means for social change. Dr. King actually applied for a firearm permit for self defense, but was ultimately denied his right to bear arms as the government viewed him and the Civil Rights movement asa threat. Remember, the roots of gun control have always originated in racism and disarming African Americans.

That's how the first gun control laws got going in this nation. For rather obvious reasons, the Ku Klux Klan was troubled by blacks being allowed to possess guns, so they pushed for laws crafted to allow blacks to be denied this right.

Gun control is, and has always been, rooted in racism and criminality. Somehow, the modern racists who oppose the people's right to keep and bear arms imagine that those of us who support this right are similarly racist, and would be motivated out of racism to oppose this right if too many black people exercised it.

There is no federal law that prohibits a child from owning/possessing a rifle and ammunition because they are 5 years old ...
Constitutional rights apply to children as well ... Even if they are African American.

That's a fact ... And most certainly due to the fact they also have protected rights.

States can and do regulate firearms ... So they probably want to look at those laws.
Federal law does prohibit the owning, purchase or unsupervised possession of a handgun by a child.
