Boulder Shooter's Name: What a Surprise

The shooter has been identified as Ahmad Al Issa. Is he a Muslim convert?

Boulder shooting suspect identified as 21-year-old Ahmad Alissa, police say (msn.com)

Now that Democrats are in charge again, are citizens going to have resume their defensive posture against Islam?
The 21 year old Atlanta shooter is a devout Evangelical, and unlike the Boulder shooter, WE KNOW that religion played a role in his motivation.. Shouldn't we be worried about them?
1) I hadn't heard his religion....do you have a link?
2) My understand is that he was a sex addict, and actually had been to sex addiction rehab...twice....so it sounds like his religion wasn't the motive for his killing...in fact he said it was his sex addiction.

So....
Take your pick. He is fucked in the head by religion and religious parents who put him out of the house the nioght before for watching porn
yeah they kick him out because they had been trying to help him wiht his sex addiction...twice they sent him to rehab. It's a tough spot for parents dealing with addicts....I doubt they would have let him stay if it was drugs or booze either...not after all the help they tried to get him,

and being an addict has nothing to do with ones faith
It is useful to understand the origins of his sex addiction

How the Atlanta shooting shows the dangers of American evangelicalism's trademark "purity culture" (yahoo.com)

  • Temptation and "sex addiction" feature heavily in evangelical rituals and beliefs around gender roles.
[*]A mythical "heroic masculinity" underpins evangelical ideas on men and sex.
And

No evidence links impulsive sexual behaviors with mass murder, experts say.

Clearly this was and exception. They pushed him over the edge
He was raised and a member of a Baptist Church not an Evaneglisical church....but I am at least glad libs are starting to give up this racism narrative.

Also, weather you are a Baptist, Evagelicical, Jew, Muslim, or Athetist....there is always temptation....and addiction can happen to everyone....I don't think Weinstein, or Weiner were Baptist...

The article is a funny thing really...the left is desperate to make this political.,...the article actually doesn't even hide it...it admits the kneejerk reaction was debunked...but then double downs, not triple downs....it's racism,...it's racism, sexism, and CHURCH......

1) Historically, Baptists are evangelicals, especially in America. As Barry Hankins and I explain in our book Baptists in America, the Great Awakening of the eighteenth century effectively re-birthed the Baptist movement in the American colonies.

Are Southern Baptists "Evangelicals"?

.
Well, I don't know what your point is and I am really not interested in the finer points of Baptists or whatever. MY point is that the kid was tomented over feeling and desires that are normal for his age. This sexual purity crap was drill into and he is clearly conflicted and torn between the religious teaching and his sexual need. He snapped, plain and simple. Religion id to blame
How do you know he was torn between his religious teaching and sexual needs? Was Weinstein and Weiner when they said they were sex addicts?

I think he was tormented over his addiction...that much is clear...but I have seen nothing to suggest his religious faith, or his upbringing had anything to do with that...addiction is just addiction...and someone isn't necessarily going to be an addict because of their religious faith.

This just appears to be another attempt by the left, after the racism narrative got debunked, to drive another wedge and spread division....

You are in denial......Perhapps I will take you seriously when you can show me that your credentials are equal to the peoplewho actually know something about this stuff

How the Atlanta shooting shows the dangers of American evangelicalism's trademark "purity culture" (yahoo.com)

Far from eliminating racism as a motive, the alleged shooter's confession embodies it: The murders in Georgia represent a uniquely American twinning of racism, sexism, and religion.
"It's not a jump to say white conservative Christianity played a role here," said Joshua Grubbs, an assistant professor of psychology at Bowling Green State University. "The facts need to come to light, but all the facts that are in the light right now suggest it's at play."

But gender experts say it's impossible to understand the role of misogyny in the killing of six Asian women at massage parlors without also thinking about the way sexist stereotypes objectify Asian women. And religious studies scholars say it's impossible to understand either without looking at evangelicalism.

Sex addiction fact check: Why so many young Christian men like the Atlanta shooter believe they’re addicted to sex. (slate.com)

The many times I’ve spoken, for my research, to young Christian men who believe they have a porn or sex addiction, they tell similar stories. One told me that as a teenage boy in his evangelical church, sex and porn were “kind of the popular sin to talk about just because you knew that it was something that every guy was struggling with.” Another young man spoke of his longtime adulthood mission to “win the war and be ready to keep on fighting” against his sexual desires. These men use the language of “sobriety and relapse,” referring to sex and porn, and they told me common experiences about how they came to realize their reputed problem and began attending treatment, sometimes in their church basements. As one put it, when his faith leaders began workshops on the matter, “Every session was just full of people—like there were people standing in the back. That’s what opened the floodgates.”

Basically, he was taught that his normal sex drive was a sex addiction and felt guilty about it. He was a "sinner" desparatly trying to tamp down his sexual needs BECAUSE OF THE EXTREME RELIGIOUS TEACHINGS

Here is more from the same piece

Believers and secular scholars alike hear in the shooter's own language, as told to police, a linguistic map of evangelical values that are both rooted in and expressions of historical and contemporary forms of racism and sexism.

Two key concepts here are "temptation" and "sex addiction." Both feature heavily in evangelical "purity culture," a set of rituals and beliefs around gender roles, designed to encourage believers, especially young men and women, to abstain from sex outside of heterosexual marriage.

Consider the possibility that if you don’t live in a mixed society filled with perverted values, such as in Liberal America, and actually look at the nations where people are more aligned with their religion, you will notice that Islam is far more violent in the 21st century than Christianity.
And stop making believe you’re so stupid that you never understand the obvious; unless you are that stupid.
Violence takes many forms. Christians are much much more of a threat to our civil liberties and our constituition than Muslims are . They are in our congress in large numers trying to basterise ther meaning of religious freedom in their favor.

Why not look at Europe and the Middle East instead of reading opinion pieces in comfortable America?
Consider the possibility that you might be taken seriously if you actuallt explained WHAT THE FUCK YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT instead of just tossing out your criptic nonsensical quips . You are not just a troll. You are a lazy troll .

And there is this

1) I hadn't heard his religion....do you have a link?
2) My understand is that he was a sex addict, and actually had been to sex addiction rehab...twice....so it sounds like his religion wasn't the motive for his killing...in fact he said it was his sex addiction.

So....

And there is this

Two key concepts here are "temptation" and "sex addiction." Both feature heavily in evangelical "purity culture," a set of rituals and beliefs around gender roles, designed to encourage believers, especially young men and women, to abstain from sex outside of heterosexual marriage.

yahoo.com and salon are the experts on this? where Weinstein and Wiener Christians?
Yahoo is a news outlet. They draw on many sources, in this case Joshua Grubbs, an assistant professor of psychology at Bowling Green State University. . And yes, he is an expert
How do we know he was torn between the two? Was Weinstein and Weiner Baptist as well?
Good grief!! Are unable to comprehend the written word, or are you just playing stupid??
I am just trying to find the connection in regards to this shooter....how do we know he wasn't just an addict like Weinstein and Weiner?
Read the damed articles that I posted. There is clear and convincing evidence that relegion played a major role. I really don't care if you choose to ignore that.
No there is no evidence to suggest that...yahoo and salon are making assumptions based on the fact that he once went to a church, that is bapitist....and they are making that assumption based on some studies...but they know nothing about the individual....and this is a fall back position after salon and yahoo's racism narrative fell apart
You didn't read what the experts said, did you? Your denial is not my problem
i did....but nowhere did they say they actually spoke to this guy. So not sure how you can say that their theory applies to this guy.
No they did not speak to him, but you seem to be unwilling or unable to accept the possability they they are right about him. In fact you seem desperate to prove that it is "just an addiction"

I am open to the idea that it's pure speculation...so it's possible...but as I said...it's pure speculation at this point. I have seen no evidence to support it

I am also not at all surprised to see Salon go to it...since the racism narrative was debunked, they had to go to some other divisive narrative to speculate on.
