WASHINGTON (AP) -- U.S. officials say the only American soldier held prisoner in Afghanistan has been freed and is in U.S. custody.
The officials say Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl's release was part of a negotiation that includes the release of five Afghan detainees held in the U.S. prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

All I saw was a question as to whether he walked away or was captured. Might have gone nutty, either way, glad he is coming back. I gather he had no sensitive information the radicals could use.

Fox trotted out some schmuck after he was captured who claimed it. Lt col John Peters or something...I'll dig it up when I'm not on the phone.

I was in contact with Bowers parents for quite a while...I'm going to try to blog an interview with him after the dust settles.
