Buying a Lemon--Vaccine Defenders--Any Sales/Marketing Folks Out There?

I am not sure how anyone can be "highly satisfied", but people are weird.

Like I said, I took it. I am in my mid-50s with COPD. My wife is a nurse who as spent the last year treating acute COVID patients, so she has seen the worst it can do and she and her friends are where I get just about all of my info on COVID from. I do not really have any desire to get a booster but she really wants me to, so who knows.

I fully see where you are coming from. I was having this discussion on a different forum about the county in Cali that made mask mandatory in private homes if you had people outside of your immediate family there...I was like the whole promise of the vaccine was for things to get back to normal...that part has clearly been a bust.

Right. To all of this.

People don't believe me, but my initial decision on the vaccines is based on terrible experiences I had in the past with flu vaccines ever since I acquired two autoimmune diseases. People think these make me "immuno-compromised" but this is not always the case. What it DOES is make my immune system whacky. And anything that messes it up, like vaccines--messes it up. So what I did was wait, like a reasonable person? If I saw a sterilizing vaccine that really DID protect my loved ones and students, I would have taken it even if it cost my ill health for a while. But it doesn't do that. As I have said. I know MANY fully vaccinated people who are getting and have had covid. Pretty bad cases too.

That said, if I had a lung issue like COPD, I would probably take them. I'm not one who says they are ALWAYS great or ALWAYS bad. Which is why mandates are so awful. And make me even more skeptical about what's behind all this....

See what I just posted

Let me rephrase...many of those against the vaccine are just as political as those pushing it. I did not mean you specifically, but it did come out that way and I apologize for my poor wording. Look at the other responses to my post in this thread, then you will see those that are just as political as those pushing the vaccine.

I am 100% against the Fed Govt mandating that private companies force their employees to get the vaccine. The good news is the courts seem to be also.

A few years ago I had a sweet little sedan with low-profile tires. These tires might work in, idk, southern California. But this car was a complete bust in Michigan, not only with our weather, but with our worst roads in the nation.

Time and again I took the car to the tire shop. They knew me by name. I knew the car was all wrong, I admitted it, and couldn't wait to offload it. For me it was a lemon. I grew to hate that car.

Why can so few admit this about the covid vaccines? That at the very least, they're not living up to the hype?

What is this phenomenon where you take it and it's like you work for Pfizer or Moderna or something? I don't understand this. I have taken wonderful medications and horrid medications and been honest about all of them. Yet it seems there's a component in these vaccines that turns people into glassy-eyed religious cultists.

Marketing/sales people: is there a name for this? Is there something about buying a product and then advocating for it?
Confirmation bias, belief perseverance. It's weird in this case, where one's life is literally at stake.

People who are vaccinated aren’t dying. It’s living up to the hype.

You have to take the flu shot every year. Is it not living up to the hype?

To be fair some are probably purely political, and some come off that way because they just don't explain their full reasons. Some may come off that way because they just don't trust the gov't push behind the vaccines. And to be fair, from what we've seen in the last couple of years, that seems reasonable too.

They are dying in our own state. And the percentages are increasing all the time.

In the last 30 days (Oct 14- Nov 12), 30,906 (28%) of 109,455 cases, 454 (29%) of 1,540 hospitalizations, and 151 (25%) of 605 deaths were among fully vaccinated individuals

Why?

Its' the same reason that prostitution is illegal but porn is not.

Or, it is the same reason why if you post anything negative about the vaccine it is immediately censored and taken down, while people all over the country are arrested for watching child porn that is left up and running on the internet, etc.

All that matters is the political power of the DNC, and any laws that contradict that power are either ignored or will be changed.

In fact, have the packed SCOTUS yet?

Secondly I do not "have to" take, nor do I take, the flu shot every year. It messes me up. Not only that, the last year anyone in my family took the flu shot was the year the ONLY member of our family to get the flu shot was also the ONLY member of our family to be officially dx with the flu. The rest of us never caught it. And we all lived in the same house. That was it for us.

The covid vax is similar

The vaccines are going just fine. Most of the people getting infected are red-staters who refuse to get their shots. Even with the breakthrough cases, (few as they are), the cases are mild.

If there is a cultist, it's the people who refuse to get their shots because getting them would be renouncing the One True God, Donald Trump. (even though Trump and his family quietly got their shots.)
I think at this point, even you know what you said here is inaccurate.

As it relates to the vaccines I’d call it buyer’s remorse, but with a twist. They refuse to admit their remorse. Of course they’re being told by the corrupt establishment that they did the right thing getting vaxxed. For some feeble minded Americans, this is all they need. They just do as they’re told.

As the Delta variant of the coronavirus surges through the U.K., almost half of the country’s recent Covid-19 deaths are of people who have been vaccinated.

Plenty more data out there if you actually want the facts. Of course the vaccinated are dying.

Yes, and it ties back to the instant moralization of the virus in the first place I think.

The vaccines are more than medicine. They make you Pure.
