You run into a good some of money, let's say from a small lottery or perhaps a relative passed away. After taxes, your share is about $250,000.

Your house is paid for, your car is paid for, you have no debt or expenses. So what do you do with that money? You invest it.

Since you don't know much about investments, you come here to USMB and I decide to help you. You are looking for a conservative but good growth company. You don't want to take any risks.

After extensive research, I find two companies that sell stock I think would be right for you. Company A had been around for a long time. Their growth is 5.5%. They have a promising future. Company B has also been around a long time. Their growth is 3.1%. Which company would you put your money in?

Before you decide, I forgot to tell you something else: Company A grosses about 1.4 million a year. Company B grosses about 755 million a year. Does that change your mind at all? Of course not.

You could care less how much money a company has. All you're concerned about is growth. The more growth, the better payoff for your investment. So if you decide to put your money in Company A instead of Company B, don't you think most investors would do the same?

Businesses heavily rely on investors to make their business run. If company B decides to overpay all their employees to look good, their investment growth goes from 3.1% to 2.8% or so.

You are looking at the micro economic level and I am talking macro economics. I don't care about company A or company B, I am looking at small business as a whole and corporate America as a whole. $13 trillion in added wealth over the last eight years.
Any claims of poverty in corporate America or small business is unsupported by the numbers. They don't pay higher wages because they don't want to pay higher wages and our government will do nothing about it. They have the workers where they want them and there is nobody to stand up for them

The government should stay out of it. They have no business telling a business what that business should pay. If someone offers such low skills they can't make it, it's the fault of the one offering the skills. Minimum wage shouldn't be in place and social programs to offset someone's low skills should go away.

A worker should stand up for him/herself.

I am sick and tired of you trying to make the rest of us feel guilty because the top 20% allegedly pay 94% of income taxes collected. Have you guessed WHY? Surprise, surprise…. it is because they own more than 85.1% of the wealth in the USA. SO I don't feel sorry for the top 20% having to pay the bulk of the taxes collected. They have the money. The bottom 80% do NOT.

There is no such thing as "the wealth" in our country. You liberals believe we only have so much money in our society, and that's the reason when somebody has too much, that others have too little.

If you tax every single American that makes over 100K at 80%, how would that help you? How would that help anybody other than government? It doesn't.

If this lying liberal concept had any truth to it, that would mean if I went to my employer and asked for a dollar per hour raise, he would say that he would love to give me one, but can't because the rich people have all the money. Or if somebody went to get a loan from the bank. The bank would refuse the applicant only because the bank has limited money; the rich people have it all.

There is no "the wealth" because money is unlimited in the US. If you're not making enough money, it has noting to do with what rich people have, it has to do with your government and your lack of experience or lack of training to earn more. Since that's the case with all people who don't make a "livable wage" then taking money from the rich people won't help that problem.

There is nothing wrong with taxes. Government is good at organizing and spending for specific things. The problem is when government grows so big that people depend on it for everything from food, shelter and medical care to roads, bridges and defense.

The US Constitution lists what our taxes are to be spent on. Anything outside of that list is government using our money for things people should be providing for themselves, or programs that the state should be handling.

Our founders designed this country so that we would never depend on the federal government. It's a shame we had people throughout time that didn't adhere to the intentions of our founders, which were accelerated by liberal policies. Our founders never wanted the federal government to be so big that it wastes money on government air conditioners and midnight basketball courts.
