As I recall the Dems wanted to put out their own summary of evidence but were voted down by the GOP. Are they desperate to keep the info secret or just afraid the GOP version might be skewed? Trump said 100% he'd release it even though he never read it. In fact only two GOP committee members bothered to review the source information Nunes used. The DoD and DoJ both want the info protected.

The fear of the DoJ and intelligence community is that their sources and methods will be compromised. Once that happens those sources and methods are useless forever. That means terrorists and foreign operatives will be harder to catch.

The fear of Schiff (as I see it) is that without the source material it will be impossible for Americans to decide if Nunes has accurately summarized the info or has just cherry-picked, spun, and altered the text of the information. You may trust a GOP-only committee vote but I'm not so sure, especially since the Dems are not given a chance to voice their concerns.

It appears to me that the GOP is OK with damaging the security of the US to score some political points.

D-Schiff argued the Summary does not have any of that, that it is missing the classified pieces, which is why he objects, in part, to its release.

I guess in part the FBI has a point. The release of the summary will expose one method of their 'Intel' collection, one we all already know about:
- Paying a foreign spy through a company working for the Russians for an un-substantiated report containing Russian propaganda and accounts/information written by Russians, information the spy did not / could not have 1st-hand knowledge of but wrote in the report as if it was factual, verified information...which it was not. (That FBI Source, btw, has been recommended to the DOJ for indictment...)

The DOJ and FBI do not want 'transparency', not any more than their previous boss - who set a new US record for illegal non-compliance with the FOIA and Federal Records Act - wanted true transparency.

Hell, we already know, again, that Obama's NSA, CIA, FBI, and DOJ illegally - in complete Violation of the US Constitution, did commit the extremely IMPEACHABLE crimes of spying on US citizens, reporters, the media, US Senators, and even USSC Justices.... which was ok with Democrats / snowflakes when it was going on and when it was exposed ...

....but now the DOJ and FBI are 'petrified' that the American people are going to find out that they used the dossier they obtained from the foreign spy as the basis for their obtaining warrants to spy on the opposing political party Presidential candidate in the middle of a US election...in order to obtain what FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe called an 'Insurance policy' to use against Donald Trump should he win the Presidency?!
