Closing or Blocking Pipelines

No one has ever moved such useless oil product anywhere. There are no spills or transport systems to look at with any substantive data.

It's been transported to the US for years and years.

Not at any scale

Because it's basically fucking useless

The profit margins will never justify the risks to the water table where it's being transported through.

Not at any scale

Bullshit.
They export over 2 millions barrels a day to the US.

Where are you getting this number from?

2 mil a day lol

2 million in hollistic oil products maybe. Not 2 million barrels of fucking sand tar you dumb fuck

Keep the prices low and you can put US producers out of business.

Bring up the prices and you'll put the American people out of business. Don't worry about our energy producers. They will never let the prices go so low they won't be able to make money. They've been doing this a long time now.

How does oil or gas get transported if pipeline infrastructure gets closed, blocked, or otherwise sabotaged by our government? Is alternative transport cleaner than pipelines?

Yea they put the pipeline to their own coast then ship that sludge on their own

It's not even oil what the candians are selling it's basically tar

Fuck em
You are evading the opening post.

It was implied

Yes over land you either pipe it or put it on trains.

Water you put it in oil tankers.

Idiot

"how do you transport liquids i'm a fucking mongoloid"

lol

I just told you how it get transported, what the fuck is wrong with you?

Why do we need Canadian oil products? We do not

Makes infinitely more sense to build a pipeline to venezuela

And it's tar no one moves tar. No one knows how dangerous it is. No one has ever moved such useless oil product anywhere. There are no spills or transport systems to look at with any substantive data. It's a giant unknown.

How hard would it be to clean up? How much more likely are problems with tar relative to a purer crude oil? No one knows
Which of the alternative ways to transport oil, gas, or tar is cleaner than pipelines? This was in my opening post that you evaded.

It's trucked on icy roads that have been graded, polished, greased and slicked with chemical melting salts.
Actually, a major oil spill would be a blessing to the new administration. They're praying for one.
Oil is already being spilled and spread on icy roads. That is no accident.
An excuse to introduce pre-written legislation that will further cripple the American oil industry and give celebrities a photo op on oily beaches.
No shit. It'll be electric vehicles only, and most of us will lose our driver's licenses along with our gun rights and voting rights.

Which shows more than 2 million barrels a day total from Alberta (2014).

Here's some more recent data.

1613406926026.png

Crude oil facts (nrcan.gc.ca)

Even if the 3.7 million barrels to the US included the entire 1.7 million barrels of conventional oil produced, that means the other 2 million barrels is oil sands production.

Dumb fuck.

the sand tar is the "un upgraded bitumen" or whatever the fuck tehy call it

which is 1.2 mil barrels a day

And we get 74% of that HOLLISTIC production, it is unclear in that link how much exaclty is sand tar, do we take a lower percentage? probably. But let's assume it's the average of 74% is going to the US

That's 900k barrels a day, and none of that would provide data unless it's seeping into the fucking ground via train. Which it is not.

We know what oil spills are like, we know what regular crude oil pipes having problems is like. No one has any experience with "bitumen" disasters.

Shipping it outside our country...Why do you think you need a better mode of tranpsort/

Just keep it outside of the states as long as possible

You want to have a tanker roll up to the gulf coast that's fine. Have a continent spanning pipeline? For who? Why?

Fuck those oil producers in canada let them send it like the venezuelans

You say this like you imagine we coudln't source all our oil from the middle east.

When they take the "useless oil product" and upgrade it, it becomes useful?

Excellent!! I'm glad you learned something today.

Ummmm.....74% of 2 million is 1.48 million, not 900K.

No when they upgrade it it becomes less viscous and much more like conventional oil products we do ship over pipelines all over the planet.

You're deviating a lot less from what you already know how to handle

The unprocessed sludge we don't know what to do with

How does oil or gas get transported if pipeline infrastructure gets closed, blocked, or otherwise sabotaged by our government? Is alternative transport cleaner than pipelines?
A convoluted question, somewhat. Pipelines are built so that companies and nations can more efficiently sell their oil on the global market.

For example: Keystone XL. Its terminus is in the midwest. From there, oil is shipped to refineries. The glut of oil at the terminus means they begrudgingly sell more oil at a cheaper price to refineries in the Midwest than on the global market. Fewer miles transported than if it were sold to foreign buyers, and cheaper gas at the pump in the Midwest than if the pipeline were completed.

Now, imagine the completed Keystone pipeline, ending at the Gulf of Mexico. The point is to be able to more efficiently sell the oil to the highest global bidder. How do you suppose the oil gets to the buyers from the Gulf? When it arrives in their ports, how do you suppose it is transported to their refineries and across their countries? Not teleportation.

Your evasion of answering which alternative transport methods are cleaner is a picture worth a thousand words. This demonstrates that you are confident that pipelines are the cleanest method of transport, an answer that is in conflict with the agenda that lefties are stuck having to defend.

Think of all the years we had to import oil.
We still import oil. And lots of it. And we always will, as long as our entire economy and national security are based on its use.

"Energy independence" is a myth. We don't have a nationalized oil industry. Every drop of oil pulled out of the ground in our country belongs to a private corporation that sells to the highest bidder on the global market.

Ironically, the people pushing the fantasy of "energy independence" talk as if our oil industry IS nationalized. I.E., ACTUAL Socialism.

In 1985 Papa Bush begged OPEC to raise ppb because domestic producers were going broke.. Thousand of oilworkers were laid off.

Homes were selling for pennies on the dollar all over Texas and Oklahoma. The impact was far reaching and really hurt the Savings and Loan Banks.

Remember the US has the highest lift costs in the world.

Yep.. These braindead types have some bizarre idea that the oil business owes them cheap oil... as if it were Nationalized..
