Defying a court order.

It's not a Court Order, is a supoena from a leaking House Committee. Comey doesn't want leaking. His request isn't unreasonable and I'm pretty sure a judge would see it that way. Right wingers are still using the Trey Gowdy questioning of Comey as "evidence" that Comey said Clinton lied. He didn't say any such thing.

It doesn't matter whether his request is "reasonable." All that matters is what the law requires. Comey doesn't get to choose whether he complies with a Congressional subpoena.

"Happy Thanksgiving. Got a subpoena from House Republicans. I'm still happy to sit in the light and answer all questions. But I will resist a 'closed door' thing because I've seen enough of their selective leaking and distortion. Let's have a hearing and invite everyone to see," Comey tweeted.


David Kelley, an attorney for Comey, said Thursday that his client will fight the order in court.
"While the authority for congressional subpoenas is broad, it does not cover the right to misuse closed hearings as a political stunt to promote political as opposed to legislative agendas," Kelly said.
