Nothing in the memo changed since Comey gave it to his friend, nothing to change the data from UNCLASS to CLASS. The information was just reviewed and the correct markings were finally placed on the document.

And as you well know, the classification of some of the information was changed to 'confidential'......AFTER Comey shared the memos. At the time they were released, none were classified.

And as you well know, retroactive change in classification status creates no legal peril. As only the level of classification at the time of release can be used in any criminal prosecution for the release of that information.With Comey possessing the authority under the law to determine their classification level at the time of release.
