Failure to do so would result in criminal charges against Comey. (18 USC 4 and 28 USC 1361) He would also, upon sufficient proof, lose his license to practice law.

If Trump did try to obstruct justice it is Comey's job to immediately report it. It is the law. My wife is a lawyer and if she sees another lawyer or judge break the law and doesn't report it best case she is disbarred. So why didn't Come do it ASAP?

Upshot IMHO - there will be no special prosecutor and nothing will come of this other than an awful lot of self-righteous indignation from the Left.

I believe this "memo" ruse is Comey showing everybody what a toad he really is. He knows the mediacrats don't need any evidence to start a new "scandal", and he did it through at least a second and third conduit to avoid the wrath of discovery. He can always claim the memo, if it exists which I doubt, was stolen by somebody and he never wrote it. Punk move from a punk.
