They threaten to respond with violence if State or Local Police enforce new state gun laws.

What is the right, moral, and just thing to do is State or Local Police come to your door to enforce gun laws that you consider to be illegal?

You fully & peacefully comply with all police orders, OR you engage in civil disobedience by chaining the gun to your body or chaining yourself to youe home, or just lay limp on your livingroom floor and force the cops to carry you.

And then you fight it all in court and hope that the jury agrees with you that you committed no crime or that you violated an illegal law and lets you go.

When you attempt to advance on the 2nd Amendment rights (ANOTHER LAW ON THE BOOKS) of law abiding citizens, I could say likewise for you.

Unfortunately, "assault" weapons bans have been upheld by the US Supreme Court as being constitutional.

I am not sure a requirement for grandfathered weapons to be registered has ever been tested in court, though. That is what is at issue here.

People talking about using deadly violence to deal with this issue, makes the law against Assault Weapons seem justified.

If you think the only way to deal with political dissagreements is with deadly violence, you may not be mentally fit to possess a firearm.

they send registration forms that weren't filled out correctly.

These laws will mostly just be enforced when another crime is committed, like assault with a deadly weapon, murder with a deadly weapon or a moving violation that leads to a trunk inspection.

ARs have less power than a deer rifle or several handguns. The left has jumped on the term assault without even understanding that particular rifle. Many even think that a .223 is fully automatic.

Connecticut doesn't have the prison space to lock up the thousands of felons they just made by enacting the law.
No matter what happens ... It is screwed up either way ... Even if they do try to confiscate the weapons because the owners are still felons under the law.

So you are no longer talking about law abiding citizens having their guns snatched away ... You are talking about people who are getting closer to having nothing left to lose.
Employers aren't going to hold their jobs while they do a stint in the Federal Penitentiary ... Not to mention jobs that convicted felons are not allowed to posses.

The thing that is interesting to me about your comment is centered on the fact they damn sure started that shit in Connecticut and not Alabama.
The North might have won the first Civil War ... But might get the first taste of the next one.
It ain't going to be the South versus the North ... But the Armed versus the Government.
