Connecticut gun owners threaten violence

Unfortunately, "assault" weapons bans have been upheld by the US Supreme Court as being constitutional.

I am not sure a requirement for grandfathered weapons to be registered has ever been tested in court, though. That is what is at issue here.

Excellent point. Would ex post facto law and precedents apply?

Any legal beagles out there who could help answer this?

Ex post facto
Ex post facto | Wex Legal Dictionary / Encyclopedia | LII / Legal Information Institute

Latin for "from a thing done afterward." Ex post facto is most typically used to refer to a criminal law that applies retroactively, thereby criminalizing conduct that was legal when originally performed. Two clauses in the US Constitution prohibit ex post facto laws: Art 1, § 9 and Art. 1 § 10. see, e.g. Collins v. Youngblood, 497 US 37 (1990) and California Dep't of Corrections v. Morales, 514 US 499 (1995).

Leftist thugs are driving this nation toward civil war.
That's what the South said. Guess who won?

Connecticut doesn't have the prison space to lock up the thousands of felons they just made by enacting the law.
No matter what happens ... It is screwed up either way ... Even if they do try to confiscate the weapons because the owners are still felons under the law.

So you are no longer talking about law abiding citizens having their guns snatched away ... You are talking about people who are getting closer to having nothing left to lose.
Employers aren't going to hold their jobs while they do a stint in the Federal Penitentiary ... Not to mention jobs that convicted felons are not allowed to posses.

The thing that is interesting to me about your comment is centered on the fact they damn sure started that shit in Connecticut and not Alabama.
The North might have won the first Civil War ... But might get the first taste of the next one.
It ain't going to be the South versus the North ... But the Armed versus the Government.

.
And to which you brought an AR-15, to a drone fight. Good luck with that.

It took violenece to give us the right to carry arms, it might take violence to keep them. Socialist need to leave this country if they don't like our freedoms and stop trying to change things.

How dare those Patriots and Founding Fathers try to change things!

How dare the Civil Rights Movement try to change things!

How dare the Womens' Suffrage Movement try to change things!

;)

Trying to change the USA is as American as Apple Pie. Especially if its done peacefully.

So you're down with the govt droning its citizens?

News for you, you already live in a quasi-socialist country, just not a very good one. And there's no reason for us to leave, we're winning.

Down or not, it's been done, and it very much depends upon the citizen. A nut held up in a farm house with 50 guns and 40,000 rounds? Say hello to Jesus for me.

When gun owners stop talking about violence and start talking about civil disobedience and passive resistance, they will get a lot more respect.

Not registering their firearms as ordered by the gustapo is classic civil disobedience.
So where's the respect?

People talking about using deadly violence to deal with this issue, makes the law against Assault Weapons seem justified.

If you think the only way to deal with political disagreements is with deadly violence, you may not be mentally fit to possess a firearm.

If Government Agents believe that the only way to overthrow the Constitution, and revolt against the People, is by searching and seizing your CONSTITUTIONALLY PROTECTED FIREARMS; instead of Amending the Constitution via Article V to repeal the Second Amendment, then these Government Agents are either unqualified by their abject ignorance, or disqualified by their wanton ambitions.

Not changing it back to what our founders were trying to get away from. By the way, libtarded dimwits were against civil rights in the 60's.

Its needs to be much more public in order to get attention.

Why don't all the Assault Weapons owners in CT just march on the state capital?

I guess we can infer from that statement that everyone who owns multiple guns and has several thousand rounds of ammo should be droned.

Because commie pig socialist pukes have a lot of people fooled. Idiot fools.

Apparently that's what the Government believes, since they'll be sending their Armed Agents to seize the firearms.

Isn't Article V of the Constitution (the Amendment process) supposed to be the ANSWER to this issue? If the Government Agents don't like the Second Amendment, then use Article V to repeal it.

The public or govt doesnt need to know anything about someone who owns guns.

Police knocking on your door isn't an act of violence.

So you are against a mass protest of CT gun owners on the state capital?

If they don't make their voices heard and their heads counted, the govt. will think they simply don't care.
