Creating a political opponent, if not present, is essential to any politician.

After all, if people don't feel threatened by another group, they would not send all their money to politicians to protect their own group and probably would not even vote.

Politics is the art of division, and race is the simplest way to create division since the average voter is a simple minded buffoon.

First the politicians demonized black and brown skinned people in the US in the 1600's in order to obtain free labor and land they did not control. White skinned people back in the 1600's were more numerous and better armed, so they were the political power of the future.

But now the political elite are demonizing white skinned people because soon dark skinned people will outnumber white skinned people. Thus brown and black skinned people are seen as the political power of the future.

So now the white skinned people will probably suffer a similar fate as the dark skinned people of yesterday and the media will make us all feel better about it saying they all had it coming to them. I was testifying in the trial of Nuon Chea right as Trump was riding into power. Many people were making analogies between Trump and genocidal leaders. As someone who studies these things, I am always wary of direct historical analogies. I think of them more as echoes, or patterns that take place, and we can look for a manifestation. For example, if we look at the history of fascist ultra-nationalism, there are many echoes with the Trump administration. I started noting the echoes, and then we got to Charlottesville. That was when I felt it was necessary to take it on, and bring to bear an analysis of the risk and danger of mass violence.

Saying something can happen, does mean it is likely, any time soon. Trump was defeated. America is on higher alert to the subversive groups mentioned, with many ring leaders still facing charges over the failed insurrection. I am not going to get very bent out of shape, worrying about it, any time soon.
