There was a historic Jesus. Son of god? I doubt it, no more so than we are. The idea of a creator figure would mean we are all the children of god.
A man named jesus lived and crucified, but so were 250,000 jews during roman times. Jesus' brother James did go on to become a leader in the synagogue of Jerusalem. The apostles were real historic figures as well.
A lot of the myths came much later.
See by using historical figures for his image you are not properly discussing him nor being historically correct nor accurate in statements, therefore they totally deceived you. Let me use an analogy.
Kramer is a fictional character on Seinfeld,
they used a friend who hadcthat type personality to base the character on, but Kramer is also the characterization of the comedic writers like Larry David, butvalso funny occurances from other peoples lives.
Therefore Kramer's image is made of many and is fictional even when based partly on real people.
When discussing James you have to discuss Theudas the actual brother not Jesus who uses 1/20th of his (Theudas' history for making the icon image called Jesus.)
