Well, since I and the media were not privy to classified briefings that the White House got, we won't know why no action was discussed (if any) and when they could have started responding. Some epidemiologists are suggesting the virus could have been here in November. As I recall, Trump did not participate in the impeachment process. I also recall during that time he did a lot of tweeting, golfing, held a lot of MAGA pep rallies, watched a lot of Fox News, and did a lot of bloviating on how good things were. Impeachment was concluded on February 5th. So, what was your excuse for Trump the entire month of February? I'll wait.

There was coverage of Covid 19 in December. Trump wasn't the only western leader who didn't want to consider the effects. But in January Trump explicitly was telling people to keep the numbers down, and there consequently was no coordinated and heightened call for accurate tests. And we won't have testing in place even while we try to "guess" what states and cities can tell people to go back to work. Gee, I dunno about you, but I sort of doubt I'm going to start going to restaurants, movies and stadiums again. Wing and a prayer doesn't really sound like a plan to me.
