Decent Haul Today.....1941 Beretta 418, 1968 Colt Cobra, and a Custom Knife

I picked these up today in a trade for a Brit P-14 rifle.

1968 Colt cobra in .38 Special.

1941 Beretta 418 (the original James Bond pistol) in .25 acp..

Jim Sasser custom hunting knife.

The Cobra came with a holster and two extra sets of grips....Very little wear.

The Beretta came with a holster.....Decent shape

The Sasser hunting knife with a Sasser made sheath.

The wartime 418s are getting a bit hard to come by.....Till today I did not know that it was the first "Bond gun"......Sadly Major Boothroyd did not think much of it.......1:48 in.

Well Jack Ruby did use a Colt Cobra to kill Lee Harvey Oswald.

The last time it sold at auction it brought 220K.

It was configured a bit different with a sheet metal shroud over the hammer and wore plastic grips.

The damn shrouds are a couple hundred bucks if you can find one.

I am old of course and was in the US Army at Schweinfurt Germany the day Kennedy who I voted for was murdered. It was a later surprise that Jack Ruby executed Oswald. This of course spurred the conspiracy theory gang to get rolling.

As quality handguns go they are not too bad.....1st gen Cobras go anywhere from 5-$600.....If you catch one on a "penny start" auction they can be had for less than that.....I saw one that only brought $345.00.

The price goes up (almost double) on the 2nd gen ones.
