Deficit Increased by $7B under Trump, But now the GOP tries to claim fiscal Responsibility????

You people have no idea how any of this works do you?

And we've had this same "issue" like seven times in the last 15 years.

Christ this is stupid

How many times have Vet services stopped?

Provide links.

That IS what the GOP is fucking with. At some point those checks WON'T go out.

In the past when this has happened we have shut down National Parks...had our credit rating cut...

This is NOT good stuff

What checks won’t go out?

SS is funded separately, so that can’t be it.

Laws say the military and vets must be funded, and tax receipts more than cover that in a monthly basis.

So, what checks won’t go out?

So explain why the debt limit needs to be voted on, Dipshit.
That's just the way it is.

Dipshit. It's a fucking stupid rule passed 100 years ago that Republicans now use to fuck with the economy

National Parks shut down? Are you talking about when Obama spent more money to shut down the open air WWII Memorial during his shut down than it would have cost to not barricade it off?

No...it is not. There is no "bank account"

Jesus you know nothing

Tax receipts only cover a portion of our obligations...that's WHY we borrow and have a debt. Moron

Read the link from Forbes i posted above and educate your stupid ass.

Still deals with future debt, not debt already voted on, Dumbass.

What happens if Congress doesn't raise the debt ceiling?

When the suspension expired, the Treasury Department began using so-called "extraordinary measures" to keep paying its bills. Such measures include suspending the sales of some Treasury securities and redeeming or suspending investments or reinvestments in some funds.

When extraordinary measures are exhausted, the Treasury spends its cash on hand. When that runs out — which experts estimate could happen in October — the U.S. government would not be able to meet its debt obligations and would go into default. This has never happened in U.S. history.

If the U.S. government cannot pay its bills, millions of Americans would be affected. Social Security payments would not go out; U.S. troops and federal civilian employees would not be paid. Veterans could see compensation or pension payments lapse. And millions of Americans on food assistance would see benefits stop.

You just said spending in excess of the debt limit is routinely done.

Just do it again.
No I did not. I said that raising the debt ceiling is routinely done.

My God you are fucking stupid

What happens if the U.S. defaults?

The U.S. defaulting would "likely precipitate a historic financial crisis that would compound the damage of the continuing public health emergency," Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen wrote in the Wall Street Journal over the weekend. "Default could trigger a spike in interest rates, a steep drop in stock prices and other financial turmoil. Our current economic recovery would reverse into recession, with billions of dollars of growth and millions of jobs lost."

On Tuesday, financial services firm Moody's Analytics stated a default would be a "catastrophic blow" to the economic recovery, and said even if it was resolved quickly, Americans would pay for a default for generations. Its analysis showed if lawmakers remained at odds after the debt ceiling was breached, nearly 6 million jobs would be lost, the unemployment rate would climb back up to nearly 9% and stock prices would be cut by almost a third,

what are you fuckin stupid. You are just completely lying. Typical Trump trash lying about everything.

Trump increased the deficit by $7B a record for just 4 years.

In 2016 the budget deficit was $587 B/year. Trump doubled that to $1.1 T by 2020, then covid hit and Trump doubled it again.

You're a dumb fuck, and a liar
Sorry, turd, but Trump doesn't get all the credit for the covid stimulus. A majority of Dims voted for that spending.

GW Bush inherited a balanced budget and projected surplus..
The GOP Congress spent like CRAZY and completely wasted and squandered that balanced budget. (then they crashed the economy 7 years later)

In 2016, Obama's last year, the US annual deficit was at $587 B a year.
In 2020 the US deficit was projected to be $1.1 T, precovid (it came in at $3T)

Trump and the GOP doubled the yearly budget deficit in just 3 years, AND they never had 3% GDP annually.

Now these trash republican try and claim to be the fiscally responsible ones even though the GOP has destroyed the countries finances. The GOP refuses to do the right thing and fund our government to keep the economy booming under Biden. The GOP has raised the debt ceiling countless times for themselves, but never for anybody else. the GOP is playing games with our economy. The economy is booming and the GOP are jealous because they such at the economy.

This is just another example of the joke and failure of the GOP. The GOP has destroyed our finances, and they won't work with the dems to help our country. The GOP doesn't care about our country at all, they care about the GOP. Party over country. Why else would the GOP spend so recklessly for so long???

Everything posted here is 100% fact, I know you hate it, I know you people are squirming and crying right now, but the truth can be a tough pill for Trumpers to swallow. You hate the truth. You hate my facts. Facts are kryptonite to a Trumper.

7 billion??

Try 8 billion.

That comes to roughly $166,187,500 per month under Trump.

So far under Biden, it's one up roughly $60,744,298 per month.

1. The dems will either use reconciliation to raise the Debt Limit, or the government shuts down
2. All of the whining, pissing and moaning by the dems makes them look desperate and uninformed.
This debt limit squabble is a waste of time and energy.
We all know WTF has to happen, so get busy.

Does this surprise anyone?

They do this every fucking time.

Remember Cheney back in the Bush years proudly saying "Deficits don't matter"? And every Republican legislator agreeing with them?

Remember the GOP shutting down the government during the Obama years over...yea...the deficit?

They only care about debt and deficit when Dems have the purse string

Don't forget Trump?
January 20, 2020
To those who criticized his spending and the growing national debt, Trump said: "Who the hell cares about the budget? We're going to have a country."

About a year ago at this time, White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney -- the far-right budget chief who got involved in politics because he was determined to help balance the federal budget -- told a group of Republicans that "nobody cares" about the issue anymore. His boss echoed the sentiment on Friday night.

Then the hypocrisy, of course.
Except, of course, it's a safe bet that the GOP will do what it always does when there's a Democrat in the White House: Republicans will magically rediscover their deep and abiding fears about the scourge of deficits. The same partisans who shrugged their shoulders after learning of Trump's comments on Friday night will pretend that annual budget shortfalls tear at the fabric of society and impose unforgivable burdens on future generations.

You can set your watch to it.
