Define "fascism"

Fascism is well defined by the Ancient Romans.
It is a coalition of the wealthy elite.
They were the military, aristocracy, and priesthood.
But the corporations have replace the priesthood.

The word fascist comes from the fasci axe handles the lictors carried as a badge of office.
An annual ceremony would tie them into a bundle, signifying strength through unity.

A democratic republic should never be able to be fascist.
It is a type of oligarchy.
In Ancient Rome, the Senate was populated by the wealthy elite. The Emperor held the highest ranking but was not necessarily from great wealth and could be a victorious general. Rome was not ruled by one individual alone until Julius Caesar declared himself 'dictator for life' after which a cadre of Senators stabbed him to death in the Forum.

Fascism is when a party will align itself with whatever group that is powerful and tell whatever lie or fact THEY want to hear in order to gain their favor. It's amorphous and broad as that. Democrats are proving themselves to be great fascists.

Webster's says the word came from an Italian nationalist organization in 1915 who advocated Italian participation in WW1 on the side of the Allies. The 'Fascisti'.........who seized power years later. I take that to mean that word Fascist describes a radical, nationalist, group who mount a revolution against the ruling government.

Republicans are nationalist (pro America) which Democrats label as 'radical.' Democrats called Jan 6 the start of a revolution so they could call Republicans, and especially MAGA Republicans 'semi-fascists.' It is all a big lie mainly because our own eyes tell us that Jan 6 was no revolution. There was a protest, some scuffling with the police and some people got into the capitol and congress chambers. Democrats are ginning that up as some kine of 'insurrection' and great conspiracy. They know none of that is true but it serves their political aspirations to demagogue it.

Democrats, on the other hand, disagree with much of American traditions and have been hard at work chipping away at America's foundation by giving confusing meanings to words that everyone agreed upon. Such words as 'sex' no longer mean what they used to mean. Even 'gender' has been co-opted to stand for what one thinks their sex is instead of their born sex. Illegal aliens are now 'undocumentd immigrants' or the short-hand.....'migrants.' We no longer go to the polls to vote, everyone is just mailed a ballot and the ballots are no longer tabulated at the polls with official poll workers. The Democrats are more like Marxists sneaking around and tearing down institutions and trying to change history. Tearing down statues, etc. IMO Marxists are pretty close to Fascists which, IMO is why Hitler's Germany and Stalin's Russia hated each other. They both wanted omnipotent power.

That is not specific enough.
It just says, "harsh dictatorship".
And the question is who has power and who is made powerless?
And with fascism, it is the wealthy elite who gain power, the industrialists, aristocracy, and military.
What definition are you looking for regarding fascism?

Fascist regimes tend to make constant use of patriotic mottos, slogans, symbols, songs, and other paraphernalia. Flags are seen everywhere, as are flag symbols on clothing and in public displays.

Because of fear of enemies and the need for security, the people in fascist regimes are persuaded that human rights can be ignored in certain cases because of "need." The people tend to look the other way or even approve of torture, summary executions, assassinations, long incarcerations of prisoners, etc.

The people are rallied into a unifying patriotic frenzy over the need to eliminate a perceived common threat or foe: racial, ethnic or religious minorities; liberals; communists; socialists, terrorists, etc.

Even when there are widespread domestic problems, the military is given a disproportionate amount of government funding, and the domestic agenda is neglected.

The governments of fascist nations tend to be almost exclusively male-dominated. Under fascist regimes, traditional gender roles are made more rigid. Opposition to abortion is high, as is homophobia and anti-gay legislation and national policy.

Governments in fascist nations tend to use the most common religion in the nation as a tool to manipulate public opinion. Religious rhetoric and terminology is common from government leaders, even when the major tenets of the religion are diametrically opposed to the government's policies or actions.

The industrial and business aristocracy of a fascist nation often are the ones who put the government leaders into power, creating a mutually beneficial business/government relationship and power elite.

Because the organizing power of labor is the only real threat to a fascist government, labor unions are either eliminated entirely or are severely suppressed.

Fascist nations tend to promote and tolerate open hostility to higher education, and academia. It is not uncommon for professors and other academics to be censored or even arrested.

Fascist regimes almost always are governed by groups of friends and associates who appoint each other to government positions and use governmental power and authority to protect their friends from accountability. It is not uncommon in fascist regimes for national resources and even treasures to be appropriated or even outright stolen by government leaders.

Sometimes elections in fascist nations are a complete sham. Other times elections are manipulated by smear campaigns against or even assassination of opposition candidates, use of legislation to control voting numbers or political district boundaries, and manipulation of the media. Fascist nations also typically use their judiciaries to manipulate or control elections.

We, it is a one size fits all definition. Until you take in to consideration A fascists government will manipulate the majority by using lies and media manipulation to pander to the masses that support them, and actually LIE and use lies and subtle manipulation of facts to LIE to gain support...NOW, Dosen't that seem like the American media and the democrats? RACISM? HATE Crimes? Diversity? Inclusion? Doesn't that all sound like a socialist slogan? If you don't hate that popular group, you aren't member of our group?

What is important is, what is Fascism and Communism like to the common family man and woman.

What was life under Hitler and Stalin like to the average person.

Pretty much the same:

One party rule, no rights per se, secret police (SS/KGB), camps and gulags, propaganda for news . . . basically an authoritarian regime and government control over almost all aspects of your life.

Sounds like Democrats to me.

In California and New York it is one party rule, FBI busts into political opponents homes at night, Planned Parenthood butcher rooms, socialist control over your life by way of healthcare and other means.

Sometimes I call Democrats Nazis and sometimes I call them Marxists depending on my mood. I get clowned for that by idiots and morons who do not understand that at the level of the average citizen there really is no difference.

As usual you are a retarded idiot:
As usual you're a hypocritical moron.
President Donald Trump appeared to equate US actions with the authoritarian regime of Russian President Vladimir Putin in an interview released Saturday, saying, “There are a lot of killers. You think our country’s so innocent?”

Trump made the remark during an interview with Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly, saying he respected his Russian counterpart.
“But he’s a killer,” O’Reilly said to Trump.

“There are a lot of killers. You think our country’s so innocent?” Trump replied.F

Former President Donald Trump renewed praise for Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin during a rally in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, on Saturday.

"I got to know a lot of the foreign leaders and unlike our leader, they're at the top of their game. These are like central casting. There's nobody that could play the role in Hollywood—all of Hollywood, nobody could play the role of President Xi of China...He's a fierce person," the ex-president said.

"Putin, fierce—they're smart. You know a lot of times I'll say somebody's smart and the fake news will go 'He called President Xi smart.' He rules with an iron fist 1.5 billion people, yeah I'd say he's smart," Trump then added.

YOUR DEAR LEADER.

QUOTE:

“He’s a fascist!” For decades, this has been a favorite smear of the left, aimed at those on the right. Every Republican president—for that matter, virtually every Republican—since the 1970s has been called a fascist; now, more than ever.

This label is based on the idea that fascism is a phenomenon of the political right. The left says it is, and some self-styled white supremacists and neo-Nazis embrace the label.

But are they correct? To answer this question, we have to ask what fascism really means: What is its underlying ideology? Where does it even come from?

These are not easy questions to answer. We know the name of the philosopher of capitalism: Adam Smith. We know the name of the philosopher of Marxism: Karl Marx. But who’s the philosopher of fascism?

Yes—exactly. You don’t know. Don’t feel bad. Almost no one knows. This is not because he doesn’t exist, but because historians, most of whom are on the political left, had to erase him from history in order to avoid confronting fascism’s actual beliefs. So, let me introduce him to you. His name is Giovanni Gentile.

Born in 1875, he was one of the world’s most influential philosophers in the first half of the twentieth century. Gentile believed that there were two “diametrically opposed” types of democracy. One is liberal democracy, such as that of the United States, which Gentile dismisses as individualistic—too centered on liberty and personal rights—and therefore selfish. The other, the one Gentile recommends, is “true democracy,” in which individuals willingly subordinate themselves to the state.

Like his philosophical mentor, Karl Marx, Gentile wanted to create a community that resembles the family, a community where we are “all in this together.” It’s easy to see the attraction of this idea. Indeed, it remains a common rhetorical theme of the left.

For example, at the 1984 convention of the Democratic Party, the governor of New York, Mario Cuomo, likened America to an extended family where, through the government, people all take care of each other.

Nothing’s changed. Thirty years later, a slogan of the 2012 Democratic Party convention was, “The government is the only thing we all belong to.” They might as well have been quoting Gentile.

Now, remember, Gentile was a man of the left. He was a committed socialist. For Gentile, fascism is a form of socialism—indeed, its most workable form. While the socialism of Marx mobilizes people on the basis of class, fascism mobilizes people by appealing to their national identity as well as their class. Fascists are socialists with a national identity. German Fascists in the 1930s were called Nazis—basically a contraction of the term “national socialist.”

For Gentile, all private action should be oriented to serve society; there is no distinction between the private interest and the public interest. Correctly understood, the two are identical. And who is the administrative arm of the society? It’s none other than the state. Consequently, to submit to society is to submit to the state—not just in economic matters, but in all matters. Since everything is political, the state gets to tell everyone how to think and what to do.

It was another Italian, Benito Mussolini, the fascist dictator of Italy from 1922 to 1943, who turned Gentile’s words into action. In his Dottrina del Fascismo, one of the doctrinal statements of early fascism, Mussolini wrote, “All is in the state and nothing human exists or has value outside the state.” He was merely paraphrasing Gentile.

The Italian philosopher is now lost in obscurity, but his philosophy could not be more relevant because it closely parallels that of the modern left. Gentile’s work speaks directly to progressives who champion the centralized state. Here in America, the left has vastly expanded state control over the private sector, from healthcare to banking; from education to energy. This state-directed capitalism is precisely what German and Italian fascists implemented in the 1930s.

Leftists can’t acknowledge their man, Gentile, because that would undermine their attempt to bind conservatism to fascism. Conservatism wants small government so that individual liberty can flourish. The left, like Gentile, wants the opposite: to place the resources of the individual and industry in the service of a centralized state. To acknowledge Gentile is to acknowledge that fascism bears a deep kinship to the ideology of today’s left. So, they will keep Gentile where they’ve got him: dead, buried, and forgotten.

Well, the Democrats aren't remotely socialist, but they are extremely dangerous/deranged fascists, yes.
