Chicago is famous for corruption, sure. In our minds, it's connected to the concept of corruption.
Public perception isn't the same as reality, though.
Pretending that the city of Chicago invented corruption and personality politics is completely asinine, though.

Boss Tweed died in 1878. Chicago's excesses are current and extreme.
Chicago didn't invent corruption, but it has made an art form out of it.
