Look into Medicare Advantage plans and Medicare Supplement plans. How can the govt maintain "free market" competition by getting involved and regulating everything? That doesnt make senseMake a huge dent in that by doing the smart thing on healthcare - Expand the current Medicare / Medicare Advantage / Medicare Supplement system to all instead of going to Single Payer.
Maintain dynamic free market competition and innovation while providing strong basic service for all and recipient buy-in.
The perfect combination, but just too sensible for wingers on both ends.

Seriously?
Tell me, what is the difference between a UHC and a BCBS Plan F?
Nothing. Medicare Supplements are standardized. However, they're all free to add services, such as health club memberships, and I can tell you some wonderful stories about how effective they can be, and they make for healthier customers. Then the plans compete on price.
Medicare Advantage Plans are more flexible.
