.Ever since reagan this country has been going backwards
It's gone to hell under Reaganism, dupe. duh. WE NEED DEMAND- look at the savings rates. The rich and giant corps don't pay their fair share while screwing the nonrich. That's YOU too.GREAT, you noticed!Well, at least you've noticed there's a problem..granted, you don't understand why just yet.I live in a Red controlled area. It's gotten so bad that I bought a gun for protection of my home. It's not Blacks or Browns that are running rampant, it's whites. Any place that is ecomonically hurting will end up like this. And whatever the majority of the population for race will be doing the crime. Outside of my Military time, I have never before now to have the need of a handgun. So don't give me this crap that it's all about the Democrats and blue areas.
The Demise of the American Middle Class In Numbers.
Over the past 30 years the American dream has gradually disappeared. The process was slow, so most people didn’t notice. They just worked a few more hours, borrowed a little more and cut back on non-essentials. But looking at the numbers and comparing them over long time periods, it is obvious that things have changed drastically. Here are the details:
1. WORKERS PRODUCE MORE BUT THE GAINS GO TO BUSINESS.
Over the past 30 years worker productivity has grown by 2.0% per year.
But after 1980, workers received a smaller share every year. Labor’s share of income (1992 = 100%):
1950 = 101%
1960 = 105%
1970 = 105%
1980 = 105% – Reagan
1990 = 100%
2000 = 96%
2007 = 92%
A 13% drop since 1980
2. THE TOP 10% GET A LARGER SHARE.
Share of National Income going to Top 10%:
1950 = 35%
1960 = 34%
1970 = 34%
1980 = 34% – Reagan
1990 = 40%
2000 = 47%
2007 = 50%
An increase of 16% since Reagan.
3. WORKERS COMPENSATED FOR THE LOSS OF INCOME BY SPENDING THEIR SAVINGS.
The savings Rose up to Reagan and fell during and after.
1950 = 6.0%
1960 = 7.0%
1970 = 8.5%
1980 = 10.0% – Reagan
1982 = 11.2% – Peak
1990 = 7.0%
2000 = 2.0%
2006 = -1.1% (Negative = withdrawing from savings)
A 12.3% drop after Reagan.
4. WORKERS ALSO BORROWED TO MAKE UP FOR THE LOSS.
Household Debt as percentage of GDP:
1965 = 46%
1970 = 45%
1980 = 50% – Reagan
1990 = 61%
2000 = 69%
2007 = 95%
A 45% increase after 1980.
5. SO THE GAP BETWEEN THE RICHEST AND THE POOREST HAS GROWN.
Gap Between the Share of Capital Income earned by the top 1%
and the bottom 80%:
1980 = 10%
2003 = 56%
A 5.6 times increase.
6. AND THE AMERICAN DREAM IS GONE.
The Probably of Moving Up from the Bottom 40% to the Top 40%:
1945 = 12%
1958 = 6%
1990 = 3%
2000 = 2%
A 10% Decrease.

The Democrat Party war on American capitalism and higher tax rates have made America non-competitive in the world economy. Blame the rich, the entrepreneurs willing to take the big chances and corporations but poor people don't produce jobs and opportunities.
You're full of shit.Virtually every high crime area in the US has a higher than average minority population.I live in a Red controlled area.
Socialism only creates despair, poverty controlled by huge government...Ghetto's form because there isn't enough funding for education, isn't enough high paying jobs and the infrastructure is turning to shit.
Also not enough police. Op, do you believe in Police?
70% of all r&d investment in the 40's through 70's was funded by the government
Science spending was higher
We built and paved the highways
We cleaned up the air
The middle class was as strong as it ever was in history
The rich paid their taxes
Funny how this did the opposite of what you say....Ever since reagan this country has been going backwards.
Rustic. Take a economics class.
I live in a Red controlled area.
Pubs are turning the whole country into a ghetto, blacks just lead that effect. Blacks are right about the GOP then dupe. Plus it's full of racists...Where is Jack Kemp, the last GOPer who did anything for the poor, discriminated against blacks? Of course blacks elect Dems- they know where the racists are duh...The OP is total bs.
Blacks elect Dems because they are uneducated--especially when it comes to politics.
Ask a black man how he votes, and he will tell you Democrat. Ask him why, and he will tell you because the Republican party is for the rich. Ask him who told him that, and he will tell you the Democrats.
Why do Democrat run cities turn into ghettos? Because they are mini socialist entities. Imagine if they are able to turn our entire country that way. Bernie Sanders would be so proud.
I am going to protest this. America does not have ghettos, which is a walled city inside the city whose residents were outlaw after dark. America has slums, but not ghettosYup, Democrats control every ghetto in America...They are the proud Party of Ghetto life and no hope..

The payroll tax is now more than fed income taxes, lol dupe. Please explain how "pubs" are turning the country into a ghetto when it's Democrat cities that are the ghettos--totally run by Democrat politicians. "Pub" areas are those suburbs outside of those ghettos where crime is low, schools are successful and business thrives.
I don't get it. Obama isn't an old fat white guy.
One thing though. Santa would never be a Republican. He gives things away, makes children happy and loves people.
You do it.Name some major Republican "controlled" cities. We'll wait.
Yawn....the sound of Lumpy getting his ass handed to him yet again.Name some major Republican "controlled" cities. We'll wait.
Yawn...entitlement thinking, I can't do it for myself so do it for me.
Not many are, it's idiot Pub MBAs going for cheap salaries for manual labor- stupid really. Payroll taxes are more than fed income taxes- doesn't matter. Hasn't changed since I worked- still Reaganist BS. Then why are corporations leaving and staying out of the US because of our corporate tax rate if it's so low?
Dupe, payroll taxes are not federal income taxes; those taxes that pay most of our federal funding for all your social goodies. The other social goodies are your payroll tax which is basically SS and Medicare. FICA is just Social Security with a cool name to it.
Of course if you had a job and worked, you'd know that.
