All that money FTX stole from people they gave to the Democrats, people are now wanting the Democrats to give it back.

Which will be a cold day in hell

In theory it probably sounds like a nice idea.

As a practical matter, however, it's simply impossible...

Of course it is impossible.

That sir, is a given.

Those in power do as the see fit and will be in power till they are 90

Go ahead, vote against them, make them laugh.

Never.

They'll spin out nonsense platitudes about turning bad money good, or doing good from all of this, or some shit.

Give back the millions? The very thought would have them stroking out.

No, they probably will just ignore it like the do most things they don't like.

Here is a similar situation.
Jeffery Epstein donated to a lot of Democrats.
They should give that money back to Epstein's victims.

Not at all. Simply put their stolen money into a fund to partially compensate FTX's victims and appoint an administrator to process applications for reinbursement.

Most mass tort lawyers (class action suit specialists) are Democrats. In fact, all of them, I would imagine. Such lawyers are very familiar with victim compensation funds. For this one, they could skip the steps of litigation since Democrats would be voluntarily doing the right thing.

I'm sure the mass tort lawyers would also volunteer to administer the fund pro bono, Democrats being so keen on equity and all . . .

But, I suppose it is impossible, given what sleazy and slimy people Democrat politicians are.

But the point, of course, is the implied collusion. If Democrats (or Republicans), pass policies that make their supporters boatloads of money, donations from those supporters are essentially "kickbacks" and obviously corrupt.

Well, then we should do that for all investments.

Investing comes with risk. Period. I've done very well with my investments, but I've also seen times where I've lost my ass. It happens, and it happens for various reasons.

Any financial advisor worth his salt will tell his clients one very sobering truth: If you're not willing to lose your money, don't invest.

Period.

No, the point is that, as a practical matter, it would be impossible to return over $2,000,000,000 dollars to those who invested in the company that went tits up. The democrats didn't steal the money of the investors.

Sam Bankman-Fried did that...

Sounds like the right is ginning up another phony controversy. If the money was taken in good faith and the recipients weren't part of any scheme to defraud, why give it back?

If anyone else had taken it and not returned it they would be charged with receiving stolen property.
