Democrats threaten Catholic Church for denying Biden Communion

They should be stripped of that anyway. The church as an entity.
I believe orgs like Catholic Charities and the Sisters of Mercy will be OK. :)
Can't tax religion, it's unconstitutional. It violates the First Amendment, sorry.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances

Hypothetically? It would pose an undue burden on new religions, favoring established well off denominations of Protestantism, Judaism, and Catholicism .. . . which would, by default, amount to the state sanctioning those as establishment religions.

Taxing religion interferes with the "free exercise thereof." Sorry godless atheist. . . YOU ARE SHIT OUT OF LUCK.

Wow, you have that backwards!

The tax laws exempt religions from paying taxes. Therefore, the tax law is a law which 'Respects establishments of Religions'. The exemption should be removed from the tax laws, then religious organizations would have to pay taxes like everyone else.

Making religious organizations pay taxes would in no way prohibit the free exercise of that religion.

Sorry, voodoo man, your argument is BULLSHIT!!!
Sorry bud, you are wrong on that.

If a religious entity does not incorporate to take advantage of liability protections? They need not worry about that law.

It is only to be applied to 501c organizations. If an organization does not want to be a 501c but still is a recognized religion? They are immune to the IRS.

If the government ever tried to tax the churches, they would either de-incorporate, take it to the Supreme Court, or Americans would simply not pay. That is all there is to it. If you fail to understand this, you are unAmerican.

"It's impossible to have religious freedom in any nation where churches are licensed to the government. In this book Mr. Kershaw exposes the root cause problems of rampant and unhindered immorality, government tyranny and corruption, and the inability of the State-licenses church to offer any real hope for combating these devastating societal problems."--Cover.

The argument here is tax exempt status while funneling money to political campaigns and causes. Tax exempt status comes from the IRS rules. Revoking those rules would not be a Constitutional violation. No one is preventing them from assembly or their right to speak their political viewpoints. No undue burden. They would be taxed like every other overt political entity.

Sorry, your argument here holds no water.

. . . oh clearly. And that is why government hasn't tried to tax them yet.

I am not wrong. Please point out to me what harm comes to the church by taxing them as an organization? Will they be forced to close their doors? No. Will they be prevented from expressing their viewpoints? No. Will they be able to give to whatever political cause they wish? Yes. Everything you've quoted here is an emotional, religious reaction to a simple matter of tax exempt status. No one is silencing them or forcing them to close their doors.

Democrats to declare war on the Catholic Church for following their own doctrine and holding politicians accountable for their public policies.

That’s sure to go over well with Hispanic voters.

If any religious entity wants to meddle in politics and/or target politicians who are enacting secular laws, then it is time they lose their religious designation and have to pay taxes just like the rest of us.

What part of that is difficult to understand?

Did the Catholic church deny communion to the Nazis for their National Socialist genocide? I don't think so. That is why they did not come out publicly against the Holocaust. They knew that their church would be burned to the ground and all of them shot.

But facing all of the Left wing governments in the world, I think they have similar concerns with the far Left over coming out against yet another Left wing Holocaust of abortion.

My guess is that they will cave like they did in the 1940s.
Forget about the Catholic church and the Nazis...how about the Catholic church and its own priests who were guilty of child molestations?

In practically every country that has the Catholic church, there were priests who were known to the hierarchy of being guilty of molesting children. And what was their punishment? Most of them were quietly transferred to another parish to continue their molestations. Hardly any were punished.

And this is the entity that is now sitting on judgment over Catholic Democrats? Talk about hypocrisy. And the church wonders why people are leaving in droves.

If a religious entity does not incorporate to take advantage of liability protections? They need not worry about that law.

It is only to be applied to 501c organizations. If an organization does not want to be a 501c but still is a recognized religion? They are immune to the IRS.

It the government ever tried to tax the churches, they would either de-incorporate, take it to the Supreme Court, or Americans would simply not pay.

"There is not a shadow of right in the general government to inter-meddle with religion. This subject is, for the honor of America, perfectly free and unshackled. The government has no jurisdiction over it."

~James Madison

I am not wrong. Please point out to me what harm comes to the church by taxing them as an organization? Will they be forced to close their doors? No. Will they be prevented from expressing their viewpoints? No. Will they be able to give to whatever political cause they wish? Yes. Everything you've quoted here is an emotional, religious reaction to a simple matter of tax exempt status. No one is silencing them or forcing them to close their doors.
I don't have to. . .

. . . the government has no jurisdiction over religious organizations, you are just wrong.

This is America, not England, not Canada, not China or Russia. . .

Your arguments might be all well and good, IT DOES NOT MATTER.

The government has no authority over religion, END OF STORY.

I think you'll find in the case of taxation, you are incorrect.
The government has no right to interfere in assembly, speech, or practice.
But money?? Especially when it comes to funding political causes, I think you'll find you are mistaken. :)
Do you suppose they taxed this guy?

:dunno:

. . . I doubt it, do you?

Sorry. If you're trying to corner me here on having a different point of view on this guy's church because of political ideology, you're barking up the wrong tree.
Religious organizations, unless you can prove you are a straight up charity (like Catholic Charities), lose that tax exempt status. Period. Left or right ideologically.

Democrats to declare war on the Catholic Church for following their own doctrine and holding politicians accountable for their public policies.

That’s sure to go over well with Hispanic voters.

The Catholic Church was largely persecuted in Nazi Germany.

Perhaps they didn’t do enough at the beginning. So they should make the same mistake with the Biden Regime? When people and institutions stand up to authoritarian governments, shouldn’t it be applauded?
