hopefully the election police force roots out the local dem officials that told these folks they could voteThese aren’t election criminals. They’re victims of a broken system.
In 2020, Gov. Ron DeSantis bragged that Florida’s elections were the “gold standard.” That was an exaggeration, but he was right in one sense: the elections there, as in the rest of the country, were secure and not marred by fraud.
That left DeSantis with a dilemma in his shadow race against Donald Trump for the GOP presidential nomination. How to prove that he, too, could recklessly undermine democracy? His answer was an election crimes police squad, announced last year to great fanfare.
Did it discover Italian spy satellites switching votes? Dominion machines using ballots made in China? Bushels of ballots?
No — it discovered voters caught in the act of voting.
Florida's Election Police Come Up Empty
DeSantis spent big for a new police force "The election police". Not to be confused with the phone police who Johnny Fever thought was after him, but he came up with nothing and well, that wouldn't look good. So after all of that he found 20 people who were told they could legally vote and did and he still had the balls to brag about it at a press conference.
I suppose we can at least commend him for not going to Texas and import some supposed election cheaters.
phkopp…given your post, how can you disagee with this? why do you think it’s ok what those local officials did to those folks? don’t think you them brought to justice?hopefully the election police force roots out the local dem officials that told these folks they could vote
those local dem officials should be locked up for aiding and abetting…
For some crimes, they do.haha no they don’t…certainly might be mitigating…but doesn’t impact guilt
but please provide a list…
geez dude…yes an ignorance of it isn’t a defense you dumb shitFor some crimes, they do.
They must "willfully" violate them.
It is. The state is going to have to prove they willfully violated those statutes. That's part of the text of the law. Hard to say they willfully broke the law when they really did try to confirm they could vote.geez dude…yes an ignorance of it isn’t a defense you dumb shit

"Advocates also say the state shouldn't be prosecuting individuals who say they didn't know they were unable to vote, because, Volz said, Florida law requires "the state to prove that someone willfully, intentionally, knowingly registered or voted while knowing that they were ineligible.""
Convicted felons can vote in Florida.yes and ignorance of that law is not a defense. They can’t say they didn’t know they were convicted felons. They knew that.
it seems some might have a defense in what @phkopp posted, showing some local dem officials told them they could.

and after that brief check they clear the rolls and caught the person? your point? they have every right to present the defense about the dem officials telling them it was ok…and sue them evenAfter brief eligibility checks by the Department of State — which reports to DeSantis and is responsible for cleaning the rolls of ineligible voters — she was given a voter ID card both times.
Police cameras show confusion, anger over DeSantis’ voter fraud arrests
Jesus dude...you get proven wrong over and pvber and just keep on sutbbornly claiming the same idiotic shit.and after that brief check they clear the rolls and caught the person? your point? they have every right to present the defense about the dem officials telling them it was ok…and sue them even

YES. Ignorance of the law CAN be a defense and in this case is.
Stay DOWN Rock...stay DOWN
your link showed it was a local adminDesantis only caught them after his administration cleared them to vote. As I said, it appears to be a set up for political gain and it's backfiring.
Of course he did. When a clown like trump is his oppenemt a blind money could win. Trump was that badFuck you and your gaslighting bullshit. Democrats stole the 2020 election. No way did non-campaigning, zero enthusiasm Biden get the most votes in America ever, dumbass. Try thinking objectively sometime. Well, I'm certain you don't know how.
It looks like 17 people in Florida were told that they had the right to vote even though they were not eligible.
Then they voted, and Desantis finalized the entrapment by charging them with fraud crime.
Is a judge tosses the chargers, this will be a big hit for Desantis as nobody will ever believe him when he claims fraud, like Trump.
Let's hope these people don't get convicted so Desantis doesn't get this credited.
