The argument is not against all guns, so saying "all semi-auto's" wouldn't be accurate.

The Republicans in the House added a poison pill to the FIX NICS bill. That can't pass the senate. What is wrong with having a background check actually include all the background it is supposed to? What does CCW reciprocity have to do with it? Why should one state have its laws not followed because a visitor from another state comes there? A person from Colorado can't go to Jersey and smoke dope recreationally just because it's legal in Colorado. He isn't IN Colorado.

One of the nation’s largest sports retailers, Dick’s Sporting Goods, said Wednesday morning it was immediately ending sales of all assault-style rifles in its stores.

The retailer also said that it would no longer sell high-capacity magazines and that it would not sell any gun to anyone under 21 years of age, regardless of local laws.

The announcement, made two weeks after the school shooting in Parkland, Fla., that killed 17 students and staff members, is one of the strongest stances taken by corporate America in the national gun debate. It also carries symbolic weight, coming from a prominent national gunseller.

Or, hopefully you have it chambered in .300 blackout. You can get subsonic ammo that completely burns up all the powder before the bullet leaves the barrel, unlike the 5.56/.223 (flame thrower from hell).

The difference is the AR platform is highly customizable to fit all needs and situations. The concept of interchangeable parts is well applied to the AR platform. It was designed to be modular and customizable. No other platform on earth has that many readily-available options.

As far as functionality is concerned, they are all the same. One pull of the trigger = one shot fired.

I have no doubt that my 15-year-old daughter can defend herself and the home with an AR pistol. Other configurations may not work. I certainly would not be as confident if she was limited to a full-length rifle or (gulp) a shot gun.
