after Iraq invaded Kuwait. Did you forget that little truth? We kept troops in Saudi Arabia at the behest of their government. Neither of these events fall under the definition of meddling.

At the time Iraq invaded we were still allies with Iraq. Saddam specifically ask our Ambassador what our position would be. Furthermore we had no mutual defense treaty with Kuwait at the time either. Had President Bush told Saddam in no uncertain terms that we would defend Kuwait as if we did have a defensed pact with them, I bet Saddam would not have done it. Also the only reason Saudi Arabia asked for help is because we claimed to have satellite data showing Iraqi tanks moving to their boarder and yet those images have never been released? Ever wonder why?

I'm not all that concerned, but just to play devil's advocate they've already claimed responsibility for the attacks in SOCal, what makes them a semi-effective fighting force is that that have the ability to radicalize people on the other side of the ocean. So yes we'll probably never feel the brunt of the ISIS "war machine" we very well could see an increase in "lone wolf" attacks.
