Two thirds of the voters didn't vote, so the dems deserved to lose, because they didn't tout the accomplishments of bringing back the economy, cutting the deficit in half, cutting unemployment in half, and giving healthcare to those that didn't have any. Instead they tried to distance themselves from those accomplishments. Same old wimps.
Now that the cons have control of the Senate and the House, who will get the blame? There's no way to override any vetoes, unless the dems join the cons. As spineless as they are it might happen. And what does Obama care, he's done in two years anyway.
But how are the cons going to blame Obama and the dems for the budget now that it's their baby? All the deficit spending and crumbling infrastructure is in their lap.
The voters and nonvoters have put those responsible for the gridlock in charge. The very ones that gave us a stupid expensive war, $1.2 trillion deficit in 2008, and a totally wrecked economy in 2007. So we all get what we deserve.

I don't believe gridlock will end. Although our politicians in general have not been of the highest character, the newest ones are truly professional politicians. Since Congress faces elections every two years, and since the salaries of a congressman are so very high, life for them is simply campaigning and reelection. They have a minor interest in legislating; they have an accute interest in raising money and "energizing" their bases for the next election.

Since the Supreme Court legalized corporate ownership of the American election process, it is safe to assume that our governance is now well-insulated from the voting public.

We don't have access to news and information apart from what the corporate media allows. They control the messages, and they control the outcomes.
