Do developed countries carry responsibility for the number of migrants fleeing poverty and war ?

Its a simple propposition. When the US and the UK invaded Iraq they opened up a pandoras box with a pointless war to exploit Iraqi oil.

None of it was needed and Iraq is still not a safe place to live.

When US drug consumption turned much of central America into narco states did they creaate an obligation to jelp those people ? The previous meddling in the politics of those places certainly did..

When western consumption created global warming is there an obligation to mitigate its effects on affected areas ? Just like in storm affected Florida.

Or is it more christian to call them all subhuman criminals and dehumanise them ?

Some responsibility yes but most of it belongs to the government the immigrants are from. They are not weak little sheep running these nations being bullied by the U.S.A. and other nations. Through the U.N. they could improve the conditions of their citizens but choose not to. Just ask Peace Corp the frustrations they have dealing with these governments.

Sometimes perhaps. For instance, the US under Sec. of State Clinton ratified and recognized a right wing authoritarian pro-wall street government coup to replace the populist left-wing anti-wall street government we certainly bear some of the responsibility. As for Iraq, not so much. They elected their own government one inky finger at the time.
