Do liberals ever wonder why our Founders were 100% opposed to big government even....

But they did know about it! They were highly educated men. They read the philosophies upon which nazism and communisim were themselves based. Hitler didn't invent nazism. He adapted Leviathan. Marx didn't think up Das Kapital himself. He lifted it from The Republic and Utopia.

It is a real shame that we no longer educate. Democrat policies wouldn't stand a chance with an educated populace.

which explains why they are always trying to register even those who cant secure an ID for themselves when the the Constitution clearly presupposes an intelligent government based on intelligent voting.

even before they saw it in the form of Nazism and liberal communism??

Yes, I do. Do you think that the FF would have approved of the PA, DOMA, NDAA, and the expansion of government that has happened through most of the previous Administrations?

dear, the entire point of their Constitution was to maintain very very limited government!!

even before they saw it in the form of Nazism and liberal communism??

Nope. And they do not care either.
As far as the typical lib is concerned, the Founding Fathers were nuts. Just a bunch of Bible thumping wackos.
Libs despise the Founders because libs think the biggest mistake the Founders made was writing a Constitution.

If we had men like the founding fathers running the country we would never have had DOMA, the PA or NDAA. They dealt with it in other ways. We would never have considered DOMA for instance. Local boys would deal with the town homosexual. Likely it would not be by carefully considering their right to marry.

Yo dingbat (dear), that's why libs hate rw's.

You're the ones who want to pile more laws on top of more laws. You're the ones who want to insert the word "except" where the Constitution says 'all are equal'.

Which one of the founding fathers said that when fascism comes to the US, it will be wrapped in a flag and preaching loudly - or words to that effect.

You worship fascists even while you (dear) don't know the definition of Communism and Nazism.

Funniest is that your leaders (dear) KNOW they're taking part in a circular firing squad. They KNOW they're dying at their own hand and they're helpless to stop the inevitable.

But, hey, its not too late to secede and we'll happily let you take Texasss and the deep south where most of the R voters AND welfare recipients reside. :cuckoo:

even before they saw it in the form of ...

what they saw was the conservative inspired Articles of Confederation and collectively sent it to the refuse pile ... and adopted the Liberal, U S Constitution.

No it wasn't. The whole point of the Constitution was to replace the failure of the limited government embodied by the Articles of Confederation.

That's what's wrong with liberals. They have not got a clue as to what the Constitution means. This is the fault of a failure to educate the people.

Like it or not, the founding fathers were screaming liberals who left idiots like you behind.

If YOUR party had been in charge, we would still be speaking with a British accent and dithering about whether or not to allow rum on board.

dear dumb liberal, Articles were for very very tiny government;Constitution was for very tiny government!!

Please be so good as to explain EXACTLY how NYcarbineer's post is incorrect.

No, I don't mean one of your brainless opinions. I mean FACT.

Jefferson was only one side of the argument.

So when were people educated enough to avoid democratic policies? In the 30's when the people kicked the bums (republicans) out? There were only a handful of repubs in the house and senate in the 30's.

To ask the least intelligent poster on USMB to prove me wrong is a challenge so daunting it borders on cruelty.

"The powers delegated by the proposed Constitution to the federal government are few and defined. Those which are to remain in the State governments are numerous and indefinite. The former will be exercised principally on external objects, as war, peace, negotiation, and foreign commerce." James Madison

And, he's rolling in his grave at the way his words are being used.
