Should the U.S. lower its drinking age - CNN.com
Howere not all the Americans agree to lower drinking age. There has been controversy whether 21 is too young to make decisions. Just more than 9 million people have visited a website that claims the drinking age will be raised to 25 beginning August of 2014.
So it is unclear what should we expect?
What do you consider about these tendencies?

If we allow 5 and 6 year olds to get high on marijuana, prohibiting alcohol doesn't make a lot of sense.

American males are required to register with Selective Service at age 18 and so could potentially be sent half a world away with a gun in their hands, Joe.

Yet they can't buy a fucking beer? :dunno:

Daz fug dup.

Lower it to 14 when the parents allow it.
Maybe we should raise it to 25 when parents are not able to prohibit. We are speaking about the health of American children!
BE MORE SERIOUS, FRIENDS.
P.S. Marijuana must be banned in the USA.

Authoritarian Nazis like yourself must be banned in the USA

In this thread you will see lot's of Libertarians because their only focus is "FREEDOM!".

This decision could drive up healthcare costs infringing the Liberties of the people who don't drink.

I'll leave it at that.

There should be no minimum age to buy alcohol or cigarettes--this is where I come down. I think that when you make things taboo, they are more attractive than they are otherwise. Furthermore, if statistics are any indication, the law/ordinance is more of a suggestion to most than something to be feared or even noticed. Lastly, unlike the laws prohibiting underage driving or gun ownership, the "victim" is making a choice that affects only her/his self in reality.

But if they go overseas - usually they can drink at 18 :D

It is worth noting that most of the world allows drinking by 18 and none of them have the alcohol problem that we do.

There really is something to making a substance or act taboo and kids naturally seeking it out.
