Classification doesn't come from properly or impropetly marking documents. Whether information is classified or not is dependent on the source and content.

For example, one of the e-mails Hillary sent, whose markings had been stripped / was NOT properly marked, contained satellite imagery from an extremely classified source. The markings on the imagery, whether properly marked or not, do not make the imagery classified. The SOURCE does.

The SOURCE is classified and all products it produces are classified. Using these products without properly marking them is ILLEGAL.

The CONTENT of the imagery is highly classified as well. From that imagery, in the wrong hands, the enemy can determine location, time of day (window of opportunity for data collection), and much more...not to mention what it was the imagery showed.
