Don't Waste Your Money On the Salvation Army

How about we all put a few dollars in a kettle tomorrow, along with a little note stating the donation is in the name of "Howey" from the usmessageboard.com.
I can't afford to give them any money because of the homofascist obama's energy policy. So I'm going to give them a Christmas card from Howie.
Eh? I doubt their minimum donation is much. You can for sure afford to give.

Never buy from them, let alone support them. Got a plushie husky from them when I was 10, but that's about it.

Figured they were some weird Christian socialist cult when I was growing up, and that they were a second hand store at the same time.
profound ignorance.
Nah, reality.

They are a very strange and communial bunch, to say the least. Their views on the family are also very old fashioned.
You can't have your own views on morals, we all need to have all the same morals, views and opinions, as long as they agree with yours. Got it.
I don't care what morals you have, you're the statist. If I it was up to me, self determination would be a right. Though if you think discrimination is right, you have a weird perception of morality.

How are they discriminating? They are a religious organization that does charity work as a ministry. They do not discriminate where the help is concerned. They simply require that those who lead the ministry lead their lives according to their beliefs.

They discriminate in terms of their beliefs, not necessarily in their actions. So do other religious organizations.

So a church should be required to hire people who, not only don't believe, but live their lives contrary to the beliefs of the church?? All so we can feel that life is fair?

I am not asking them to do anything. But I do question their beliefs and opinions, and wouldn't live by them myself. Does that preclude me donating to them? As there are plenty of charitable orgs that aren't religious that I disagree with.

Anyone ringing a bell and wearing red at Christmas time is getting my pocket changed deposited in their donation bucket. I don't care who they claim they are helping. For all I care, the bell ringer can be pocketing my change. Merry Christmas ho ho ho.

I'm sure you can find lots of reasons not to be charitable.

What is it about the gays having to always support some fringe effort? So ghey. These people are always in desperate mode in an attempt to find something meaningful in life. Ever notice that?

I haven't given them a cent in years.

Busted Leaked Salvation Army Document Shows It s Still Homophobic Allison Hope

What's more annoying than the constant ringing of bells by Salvation Army donation-bucket volunteers during the holiday season? The organization's longstanding, outspoken homophobia, of course!

Last year the Salvation Army did a media blitz claiming that it no longer believes same-sex lovin' is a sin.

Turns out they were lying. An internal document was recently leaked, and it reveals the dishonest disconnect between what the Salvation Army was telling the public -- that they are more LGBT-friendly than their checkered past would indicate -- and the fact that they are actually still just as homophobic as ever.

Yea because providing food and clothing to the poor is so evil how could they live with themeselves. Unlike the many bullshit liberal run charities that VAST MAJORITY of the money they raise goes to helping people! Time and time again liberal charities see less than 10% of the money going to the cause they support.

Maybe all the cock getting shoved up your ass has effected you brain!

When I stop at the Jewel today I am going to drop extra in their bucket!

Hey if I could find a fag charity that was as charitiable as the salvation army, doctors without borders, soup kitchens, homeless shelters etc, then I would. But none exist!

The SA does more to help the poor than damn near anyone or org, and b/c they don't support gays, you want to hurt them.

faggot, your self pity and hate is harming poor people you ignorant self righteous poser
Catholic Church does far more, as does the Mormon Church. Don't need to endorse fringe Christianity to help the poor.

Um no you ignorant ass. Evangelical charities do more for the world than another.

Any in case you didn't notice the Catholic and Mormon church have the same view on fags!

Sorry, our local Salvation Army does a lot of good for people when they're down.

Oh...and I still love the chicken strips from Chik-fil-A
I am still boycotting the chicken strips. I do however enjoy their sandwiches. They are even more delicious when you refrigerate them and eat them cold the next day. Get them on Saturday because you can't get them on Sunday. I have to drive a whole 1/4 mile to my nearest Chic-fil-A

My God man!...those chicken strips are the best.

What I don't get is why their Chicken is so much better than KFC or Popeye's

Perhaps I will select a different product to boycott. Will take a look at the menu next time. I don't mind supporting boycotts if I can still consume or purchase the products selectively. Maybe next time I will boycott the sandwich and buy some strips. No, forget that. I like the sandwich to much.
Chic-fil-A is better than the rest because they use goodness and niceness in their ingredients. It's a proven factual fact.

I wasn't talking about all evangelical charities, but the Salvation Army. Stay on topic.

And I would disagree, as the Mormon and Catholic churches don't have the same view on homosexuality. Unless you are suggesting that all Christian denominations believe the same thing when it comes to any issue, let alone the issue of homosexuality.
