Does does the word humans...Any person with a basic education understands "mankind" means human beings, period.Mankind is a gender biased word created by a gender biased human, yet the English language is very flexible in it's usage and is more gender neutral because words can be changed to gender neutral and still hold the same definition...Actually, it isn't. Who is "mankind"? The male half of the human population or all male and female humans? Remember that it was in the inside of a female human being that an egg was fertilized by a sperm, carried, developed into a human being, and was delivered into this world by her, in pain, as a fully formed being, which is you.The English language is more gender neutral than paternal or maternal based languages......
