European Flooding

Every time I check another news blog, there's more on flooding all over Europe. Hallstatt, a beautiful village in Austria. Towns and villages in Germany. And now comes this:

I've been to both places and found them quite beautiful. I wrote about my trip to Lourdes some time ago in my blog A Soldier's Stories

The last flood also hit several other places,like the Czech republic.

Some scandinavian countries listed flooding and other natural casues as the biggest threat facing the country,even though they are experiancing less than most of Central and Western Europe.

How come so many floods have occured in the last months? Not only in Europe,but elsewhere too?
