I know about the Byzantine church and the Roman church. I know about the Reformation and the 'Great Awakening' of the 18th Century and the evolution of xtian biblical and liturgical canon.

The idea that no other xtian denomination other than a small subsets of Protestantism is actually xtian ignores more than a thousand years of church history. I'm not involved in your religious in-fighting, I'm only an observer.

The Council of Trent was the Catholic response to the Protestant Reformation where Protestant heresies were identified and responses created.

The council lasted nearly 20 years and many of today's Catholic liturgical customs originated in that Council.
