OK, I notice something about this "journalist". I never heard of him before.

Typically, when someone is working as journalist, there is a Wiki page, of something similar, with list of their previous work, their accomplishment, and awards, etc.

Prior the March 13, 2022 there was no Wikipedia page to his name. If you look at the "edit history" the first edit was creation of the page, on 3/13, and there are few edits since then. What's also weird that his brother Craig, who is executive producer of multiple films also doesn't have Wikipedia page, nobody even knows his birthday.

Now, if you revers search image of Brent Renaud, every single image that media used existed either prior 2015, I assume at the time when they created his "alias", but nothing in between then and date of his death. Even his badge picture is from 2015, and NYT confirmed that last time he was "working with them" was in 2015.

IMO, this guy was not journalist. He was either intelligence asset who died in the line of duty, or this guy did not die, they created the story to burn the alias.
