Do you know what the Allies were fighting? Read up on the goals of Germany, Japan, and Italy. And the Allies agreed to the use of nukes by the US. How many more should have died? Did you know many in Japan chose to fight until the last man? How many died in Berlin and surrounding areas because of NO SURRENDER by Hitler?
Okay, a couple of issues.
First and foremost, the goals of the Axis are irrelevent to the use of Nukes. By August 1945, Italy and Germany had already surrendered and Japan was on the brink of collapse. They were already seeking a way to surrender, the sticking point was the status of the Emperor. After Russia entered the war, we were suddenly totally okay with keeping the Emperor.
Second, the bombs really didn't force Japan's surrender. The entry of the USSR into the Pacific War did. They rolled up Japans forces in Manchuria and Korea in days. Had it dragged on any longer than that, the USSR would have gotten to Tokyo long before the US did.
