Healthcare education is very expensive. A friend of mine's kid goes to Drexel Medical School, the tuition bills he gets are astronomical.

That's the whole problem in a nutshell. The US Government needs to get out of the student loan business altogether.

The Private Sector could handle this a lot more efficiently. Using each student's prospects and collateral being offered to determined their individual terms and interest rates. Charging greater rates and more onerous conditions for lesser quality programs. Pressure on schools to reduce tuition rates.
