Feds foresee $30 trillion debt, blame looming tax hikes and Obamacare
he federal government will be flirting with $30 trillion in debt within a decade, the Congressional Budget Office reported Monday, blaming an aging population, new spending and tax cuts approved on Capitol Hill, and the growing burden from Obamacare for erasing the progress Washington had made over the past few years.
Analysts said Obamacare will chase more workers out of the labor force over the next five years, adding pressure to an economy still struggling to spring to life more than seven years into the Obama recovery.
The Affordable Care Act itself is still struggling to attract a customer base, the
CBO said, lowering its estimate for the number of people who will sign up for the exchanges from 21 million to 13 million — a drop of nearly 40 percent in projections. Customers collecting taxpayer subsidies this year will be 11 million, down from the 15 million the CBO projected a year ago.

Obamacare is a tax. A HUGE one

Aside from the fee for not obtaining health insurance in 2014 ObamaCare primarily raises taxes on those who claim a taxable income over $200,000 for an individual or $250,000 for a business or family. Tax increases only affects 2% of people and 3% of small businesses, although some of provisions in the Affordable Care Act do have an indirect affect on Americans, the law itself provides far more tax breaks than it does increases for the majority of Americans.

HUGE HUGE HUGE ... HUGE I TELL YOU !!

Thank you Mr. Obama.
Obama's part of it, but people have been warning of the perfect storm ever since the Reagan tax cuts and the mythology of starve the beast. It's a bipartisan tsunami, and the only candidate in the race who has any record of credibility in terms of warning and actually doing something about it is Kasich.

And besides, your OP is a lie. the links don't go to the cbo. In fact, Obamacare is not in and of itself a hit to the debt overall.

Here's a story with "real" links

Obamacare Narrows the Deficit. Let's Move On.

Nevertheless, I'd agree overall that a federal program that requires insurance and "gives" tax credits to buy it is overall increasing the amount of money we need to pay for federal programs. Just because the Obamacare taxes basically cover the cost isn't really the whole story because we can only tax so much, and we have other unfunded liabilities.

Do you have a link to the CBO report, instead of from the hack Washington Times?
