Filmmaker Who Targeted ACORN Arrested in Alleged Senate Phone Scheme

From what I understand in Maryland, at least, what he did with his video surveillance broke state law and is also considered a felony.

He seemed to get away with at the time but I wonder if now that will also be looked into.

:eusa_eh:

Just had a call from my friend from N'Awlins and we had a good laugh over the video of a stupid little white boy with his "ho" in nearly nothing, as it is hottest summer, July 24th is the date of the video, and the stupid fuck O'Keefe is running around in a ratty looking thrift store fur coat, outside in that heat.....

I guess his reference research was watching the 1972 Superfly movie, lol......

Perhaps he should have talked to Token Steele, as the poor little white boy seems sadly out of touch with "urban" lowlife culture, and even the farthest most culturally separated token could have perhaps given him a couple of clues.....

Ravi is correct, O'keefe committed a felony in Maryland. You can't tape anything, even if you are trying to protect yourself.

O'keefe should be prosecuted just so it's fair to the rest of the people here. That sow Linda Tripp should have done time as well.

Additionally, Landrieu is on the Homeland Security Committee. The Patriot Act doesn't afford you with all that nice "innocent before proven guilty" stuff. Read it.

2 time felon here is O'keefe in my scorebook.

Wow...I didn't think of the Homeland Security angle. Just being in her office with his phone on "film" is probably a felony.

The guy is in for a world of hurt.

I hope so.

I am sick of these lying right wing nutcases.

He and his female companion are also facing a couple of lawsuits for the ACORN illegal taping of people and then editing the tape to ruin them.

They guy is turning out to be a curse on anyone who helped him do his illegal activities.

This guy is going to jail where he belongs.

We used to wait and have a trial, get a verdict and that kind of thing before we sent people to jail. I guess finding the truth is no big deal to you, huh? If he's been arrested, he must be guilty.

Make an ass of yourself much?

Unfortunately it's trial by public opinion these days.

No, the trial will be in federal court.

Perhaps.

But look back at ACORN. What O'Keefe portrayed was accepted point blank, trial was by internet, and a verdict of guilty already decided. There was a stubborn refusal from the rightwing to question the methods or accuracy of the "investigative reporters". Now, they are pleading for leniency and "lets wait for all the facts"....hmmm

...we didn't hear that before much :D

Good point.

FoxNews lies every single day...

It reminds me of something Adlai Stevenson said....

"If the Republicans will stop lying about the Democrats, the Democrats will stop telling the truth about the Republicans!"

This guy was met by the police in the middle of this crime.

The cops make pretty solid witnesses in court.

These people are so obviously guilty.

Yeah......you do the same thing when you go rabid on GITMO prisoners being brought to the US for trials.

As far as James The Queef, what part of he did a GOP attack video about ACORN with the BLESSING OF THE GOP did you miss on his last escapade for posing as a pimp who was looking to open up an underaged teen brothel?

The stupid fucker was the GOP darling for a while.

Now? This next gig he's a telephone repairman..................

Hmmmm........pimp, telephone repairman..........I'm sensing a trend here, and I'm betting that his next act is going to be a pillow biting bottom in jail.

Hope he likes gay porn.

CG is still sure ACORN is guilty even though they were victims of dishonest employees and the court agrees.

You guys do realize there is a difference between someone committing a crime on video and a news story alleging that someone is committing a crime, dont you? Sure, the person on the video still has a pressumption of innocence. But no one is stupid enough to believe that they didn't commit the crime. Heck, even my clients who were stupid enough to video tape themselves committing crimes knew they were guilty.

But I suppose we should just ignore reality. We should make a judgment based on zero known evidence and throw away the key.

The cops arrested them IN the office where they were in the process of commiting the crime.

They make very convincing witnesses.

As I suspected, zero evidence that they're affiliated with any political party, let alone the GOP.

Shameless hack.

What, you mean besides the fact that O'Keefe worked closely with FoxNews and has been a main speaker at several Conservative gatherings?

Here's some evidence. Not only of political party affiliation, but of motivation:

KTBS 3 News | Shreveport, LA: ArkLaTex News - Finley nominated to be U.S. Attorney

President Barack Obama has nominated a federal prosecutor in Lafayette to be U.S. Attorney for Louisiana's western district that is headquartered in Shreveport.

Stephanie Finley's nomination on Wednesday must be confirmed by the Senate before she can take the post.

Finley would replace Donald Washington, who was appointed by President George W. Bush and resigned on Monday. The U.S. Attorney's office is currently run by Bill Flanagan of Shreveport, the first assistant U.S. Attorney.

Bill Flanagan's son was one of the perpetrators that were arrested.

Bush hired Washington, who hired Flanagan, one would assume he's a conservative. And, more specifically, a conservative that was pissed that Democrats had appointed a Democratic choice for AG over him, instead of allowing him to make his temporary control of the AG's office permanent.

Also:

Conservative ties bind 4 La. phone plot suspects - TDS

The fourth suspect, Robert Flanagan, 24, wrote for the New Orleans-based conservative Pelican Institute and had recently criticized Landrieu for voting in favor of health care legislation after securing a Medicaid provision helpful to her state.

How's that for evidence?

Not only that, but they were pretending to be repairmen to gain access specifically to the phone closet, which would be the perfect place to plant bugs.

But even without the wiretapping charge, they are at the very least guilty of Fraud and Trespassing.
